Animosity
Decided as a thought experiment to dig up what would make potential good bases for a free content version of Strife. All CC0 or Modified BSD License.

Blasphemer managed to make strides using discared enemy sprites from Freedoom, but for Strife I think the old weapons are more pertinent.-
Here is a brief story synoposis for consideration.
"They had come from the stars, but almost as quickly they had vanished. No one knows where the gods went, some think they were wiped out in a heavenly war, others feel that they merely deserted us for our sins. What they left behind however, were their marvels, their magic idols and totems. Unfortunatley, we were not ready for them, and now we have become servants of their legacy instead of our own futures. The select few bestowed with the divine inspiration to channel their power have abused it to dominate the rest of us, their iron rule more oppressive and cruel with each passing year. Us common folk feel less like the faithful and more like cattle. Some have decided to fight back, even if it means breaking the old convenant and adapting the ancients' instruments ourselves. Our gods are gone, but not forgotten, and now it is left to us left to shape the fate of our world."
If you would like to help there are several ways to do so:
- If you are experienced with Doom WAD editing, you can begin adding in these resources into the existing blanked WAD file.
- This can include converting it from a PWAD into a complete standalone IWAD.
- If you are experienced with Doom/Strife mapping, you can begin working on hubs for the game.
- If you are experienced in 3D modelling, you can begin posing and capturing the 3D models below to turn into sprites or make new ones.
- If you are experienced with 2D pixel art, you can touch up or submit new artwork.
- If you are good at sketching and character design you can create or enhance character portraits.
OpenGameArt.org can automatically generate a single credits file for all of the art in this collection. Please note that, while we tried our best, this file is in no way guaranteed to be accurate, and properly attributing the work you distribute with your project remains your responsibility. You'll want to load up this file in a text editor, check to make sure everything looks good (and that any special attribution instructions are followed), and then delete the notice at the top of the file, as the notice is designed to make you look very silly if you don't check over the file and remove it.

Beings
