Modular RPG Characters
Pack of 2 modular characters(male and female) that I made for my game.
They are all in range 2-3k tris and textures 512x512 - 1024x1024 png.
They are rigged and have various animations(around 45 animation each).
Each are packed in separate blend files.
~Update:
IK rig for animating modular rpg characters:
- Each file contains various IK animations that need to be baked to base skeleton(with out control bones).
- Not all animation are acurate, because I did modification of rig several time
but they can be useful as a start point for new animations.
- There are various weapon objects(on diferent layers) that are attached to weapon sockets,
that can be hiden/unhiden to help with better posing.
- Blender version that I used to model and animate those is 2.79b
Skeleton layers:
- base skeleton(bones that need to be selected when baking FK animations):
- layer 1 = base skeleton upper body
- layer 17 = base skeleton lower body
- layer 16 = base skeleton weapon socket bones
- control bones(deselect those when baking FK animations):
- layer 2 = control bones upper body
- layer 18 = control bones lower body
- layer 32 = help bones feet
Hope you find them useful ;)

Comments
They look really good, and there're not much submissions like this on OGA, they will be very useful. People with at least basic 3d skills can adapt and change it easily to their needs.
Thanks! Yeah, it should be easy to edit or change their textures or add more geometry on them.
Also the topology and UV of both models are weary similar, so they can share(not always) same textures to.
+1 for your comment, very nice of the creator to offer those as cc0!!!
Good job, looks excellent :)
Thanks!
System C6, thank you for your wonderful contribution! :)
It is really difficult to find such great content with a CC0 license.
I notice you state about 45 animations each, however when opening the blend files I can only see the idle animations.
I'm using Blender 2.83, maybe that is the reason. Might I ask which version of Blender you used?
Thanks! And you're welcome :)
The blender version I used to pack those is 2.79b.
Hope that'll help.
Can these help make new Hero / Heroine animations for Flare? Namely dual wielding and 2H handed animations (swords and polearms) for both male and female? https://github.com/flareteam/flare-game/discussions/900
@WithinAmnesia Sure! You can use it :)
If you need a simple rig that I used to animate them, I can upload it.
Okay that would be great to have access to an animation rig. Your animations look pretty good. Do you have any more dual wielding animations? Everyone has probably seen this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UOryLeU86A&ab_channel=Axhol3Rose and been over the moon with it but it is mostly parry techniques and not very practical Hollywood fake sword fighting (like stabbing straight through a hardened steel breastplate / brigandine with a one-handed sword). Although a more reasonable method of dual wielding that lends it self to animation can be roughly found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOOfZvhnIl0&ab_channel=FedericoMalagutti + https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iOnCih2UmQ&ab_channel=FedericoMalagutti (the second video is quite reasonable for practical dual wielding techniques.)
@WithinAmnesia I updated my post with animation rig file and short description. Hope that'll help. Good luck!
Thank you @System G6 .
Yet another awesome submission by System G6! The package even has 3 male head variations, plus a target dummy that are not shown in the preview.
For use in a newer version of Blender, it's as easy as selecting each object and adding an armature, then click use nodes under the material tab, and adding a texture node with the right texture as the input to the base color.
For use in Unity, just export the mesh and armature to FBX, ensuring the bake animations box is checked. In Unity under the import settings, put the scale factor 0.5, and set the animation type to Humanoid.
I couldn't resist including these in AnyRPG and they will be in the next release. As always, I've added you to the credits for this.
Thanks and keep up the great work. I'm loving all the packages you are releasing as part of your game. You've created quite the collection of great icons and 3D models that are otherwise missing on OGA as part of a base medieval fantasy kit :)
I've included this pack in AnyRPG 0.14a and added you to the in-game credits.
You can see it featured in a YouTube video at https://youtu.be/1XVX_nBaMrU
Thanks :)
If Collection is invisible then right click on collection > visibility > enable on viewports
Old blender files seem to have this problem when opened on newer blender version
Do you have weapon textures?
@Insectopos
Those are only dummy weapons for animating.
Check those weapons from other submit >
