I've done alot of small improvments everywhere. Here's some of it... I polished up alot of "noise" or stray pixel reminents in the water animations. I redone the rocks/cliffs transition into ocean, redone some OPP assets, added OPP animals/sprites to liven things up, and made a animation of Hyptosis tall grass. I finished mapping some areas. Started working on the castle again. I'm using Hyptosis' pixel sharp dungeon wall tiles for the castle walls. 48 x 48 Pixel Sharp Dungeon Tiles | OpenGameArt.org I finally noticed Death's Darling had released some waterfalls few months ago so I had to test them out and mapped up a little demo. [LPC Revised] 4-Season Terrain | OpenGameArt.org So there's 9 water animations in there. Check it out in Tiled. I updated my dropbox. Dropbox - ZJRPG - Simplify your life Ok here's a wall of demo's.
Thanks for letting me know the image wasn't loading. I tried to reference back to dropbox for the image to load and like MedicineStorm said it worked for me but no-one else. So I added it as a attachment and used that URL to get it to load big in the post.
So here's an image of the beach waves animation to give idea how it looks now. The cornors need tiling work.
Hey there! I have an update!! Improved upon cliffs/mountain tiles and how the creek bank transitions into animated waters. Which led me to mapping up a few waterfall animations. I was AMAZED!!! at how good it looked! I made these waters like a decade ago and to finally see this made me happy!! Sorry I'm busy IRL.
I also improved upon my beach waves animation to incorporate a technique I seen on Horizon's Gate. So that animation looks WAY better.
Thank you so much! It's awesome of you to share this CCO.
I found your game Horizon's Gate couple years ago and I was thrilled to see how good this shoreline wave animation looked with my submission of BFW water animation. I'm really happy you liked it and it helped you.
So I need to refine the shoreline waves I'm making and I wanted to study your technique you used in Horizon's Gate. So thanks again this is gonna help me.
My bad I haven't posted on this WIP in a long time. I haven't found much time lately for this hobby.
What have I finished? Probably nothing. LOL! It's hard to say something is finished when you keep adding polish. Last winter I finally got around to re-working all the grass and gravel transition tiles. I'm pretty happy with how it looks now. I also "finished" my pine trees to better match Jetrel's trees. I'll message him and see what he thinks. May need more polish. I also redone my manzanita trees.
Luckily this update survived my RV springing a leak and flooding my laptop. So I'm dumping the 3 tilesets here for now. I'll update the submission later.
To Do list:
1. The mountains and creek bank need improvements.
2. I have a bunch of OPP assets scattered around the example map that need converting to match style.
That's a good question marko, I thought the same thing and I think the submissions like the one u linked to don't get the new tag.
I figure this is a new tag being applied to new submissions inspired by "LPC Revised" by Elizawy who pointed out some inpurities or inconsistencies in the original character animations. She gave more strict detailed player/clothing positioning guidelines and bzt adding those details to a new draft of the LPC style guide. Nothing changed in the style of the style guide, only expanded details on the character I believe.
Am I right thinking this tag is for new submissions? Mostly for organizing this fork of characters and clothing? Maybe re-submitting the terrain tiles.. maybe reorganized a bit.. with this new tag? Seems like an effort to get organized and I respect that.
Hey there! Recently I got back into a little pixel art. I'm working on refining my art that I included in my last submission of Jetrel's awesome rpg assets. I will update that forum topic and submission soon with my latest version.
Anyways, I read all this talk about a tag. Took long time to read... I dunno if anyone mentioned "Refined" so I'm mentioning or voting "LPC Refined" that's what I think when I'm re-organizing and re-working. It's a good word bro consider it. or if you don't like refined maybe "LPC v2"?
I named it ZRPG because of my name Zabin or Zach IRL. I knew it would make people think of Zelda too like Modanung did. So think of the Z either way ;) hehe.
The art I labeled "ZRPG" is random OGA and LPC stuff I remixed to try and match Jetrel's awesome art.
I will expand this "ZRPG" when my life allows. But for now it's here and avaliable for others to play with ;).
Awesome! "Mudstones" sounds pretty good to me. I was simply thinking of them as "pavers" for around rocky areas but how you worded it sounds cooler. I like the variations you made with them. Thank you bluecarrot16!
I've contacted Saphy about her contributions in The Mana World Forest tileset and secured CC-BY 3.0 I have not been able to contact Len though... I've tried many times and different ways. It's a shame because I know his answer would be "yes!" seeing most his art here is dual licensed. So you'll have to release that seperately.
That is an amazing collection. I like what you did to the lost garden mountain tileset. Good job!
Hey there, thanks for the nice comments!

You can check out all the animations in action if you have Tiled map editor. Here's the link to the .tmx and tilesets. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/lm0lp7gvqpd5e1y0zwo17/h?dl=0&rlkey=nisjav...
Edit: I'm not sure if that image is showing up. My internet is horrible. Edit 2: I figuredit out :) Take a look at the side facing waterfall.
