All the more reason to open
Wednesday, February 22, 2012 - 15:30

All the more reason to open source it.  I'm sure it could be abstracted out and replaced with something cross-platform.

Great for use with these

Great for use with these sounds:

Hi Ron,

Hi Ron,

The 3D art category is for 3D models, not renders.  Can you post the model file?

Thanks!

Bart

Very nice, particularly since

Very nice, particularly since it looks like you're working with the EGA palette.  :)

I've let this go on for too
Sunday, February 19, 2012 - 20:06

I've let this go on for too long.

old_school, you have failed to provide any sort of proof, references, or additional information regarding your job and internship postings.  For instance, in your art internship post, there was never any proof that this Nik person ever worked for you -- at the very least, he doesn't see fit to mention it on his website.  Furthermore, you assembled an "art gallery" on your website that presented art from OGA in a misleading way, that would probably lead people to believe that it was created by your company.

On your programming internship post, you provided no useful information about the location, length of the contract, payment, etc.  Even if, as some employers do, you're paying based on work experience, withholding the other information comes across as shady (much like pretty much everything else you've posted regarding jobs and internships).  Plus, internships aren't exactly salaried positions -- people don't typically expect them to pay a whole lot, which makes it suspicious that you're not willing to talk about how much you're paying.  One wonders if you're trying to slip by paying an hourly rate below minimum wage.

I try to be pretty hands-off with my forums, but this has gotten to the point now where you're making a lot of people angry.  The replies to your posts may have been harshly worded, but they were valid questions and criticism, not trolls.

I'll give you one warning.  If you make another post related to internships or job offers (yours or in general) you will be banned.  If someone else from your company makes a post related to internships or job offers, you will both be banned.

Greets!
Tuesday, February 14, 2012 - 10:20

Greets!

This track is very nice, but the "this is a preview" watermark makes it un-usable by itself. While we don't mind (in fact, we encourage) artists using OGA to post single works in order to promote themselves, those works need to be usable on their own.  Would you be willing to replace this with the original track?  If not, I'll have to remove it.

Thanks,

Bart

P.S.  You might consider a lower bitrate for encoding (say, 128 -- no less than that) if you'd like to sell a higher quality track.

Hello Anon,

Hello Anon,

The license on these images (CC-BY-SA/GPL) require that the rest of the media and the game itself be released under the same license.  If that doesn't work for you, then you should consider checking out content released under CC-BY instead, which allows you to use it and just credit the author.

Bart

P.S.  The copyright owner (I'm not sure if that would be Justin or Clint Bellanger in this case, since I don't know their commission arrangements) is free to make an exception if they want, obviously.

I would upload the sketchup
Monday, February 13, 2012 - 09:43

I would upload the sketchup file for it, but OGA doesn't seem to support that as of yet.

Easily fixed.  What's the file extension?

Very nice work :)

@Anon:

This probably isn't the best place to ask.  You may want to ask on our rigging and animation forum:
