Okay, ill give them a look, but i cant promise anything about when they will be done and i would like them to be released in OGA, is that fine with you?
Hi Ayrin, i feel like making some low poly characters, could you point me to where you got the sources of Megaglest ones? I want to study them, they have some pretty clean topology and nice details for their low polys; and somehow i cant find them anywhere.
Just my two cents, but OGA design looks so bland and outdated by now and all the efforts made are just to keep it from sinking. Also, i can see a tendency of 3D artists migrating to sites like Unity-store or the likes.
I have been a collaborator and user of OGA for years so it pains me to see it getting stagnant, in the past small contests were hold, or commisions ordered using donations, ambitious games posted their developments... nowadays i can only see a notice months old and can barely distingish between "popular" and "lastest art" because of how everything is layered (cluttered is a better word), not to speak about the almost non existant forum community. Great models are buried somewhere where newcomers arent likely to ever find them, the searching function not helping much at that (lizardman, dwarf, barbarian and executor being the maximun exponent, which by the way were commissioned).
So i think that a starting page redesign should be max priority, highligthing the historical best in a big way (ramdonly or whatever) and making smaller and better ordered the popular, recent art... The focus is all wrong looking trought newcomers eyes, making everything hard to find by a dull looking and confusing GUI.
Next, tags should be rigid, and any new model author check the ones he thinks fits, (2d, 3d, characters, firniture...) have a look at blendswap for a good sample of this.
The line between fun and boredrom is pretty thin, isnt it? :)
Thanks for your opinion, i dont want to devote time to something that fails rigth at its very concept.
I think the art will be a lot like this model ill upload to OGA soon, but fantasy themed, im still deciding between a more detailed pixel look than this or simple colored textures (toon shader included, a blach outline sure can spice up any model).
Blender please; Are those models from safe to work with licences? Stolen content is a "no go" here at OGA
