I downloaded the file just now, ran a scan with three AV suites including Windows Defender... and nothing. I'm going to go with a false positive on this one. As far as I can tell this file is legitimate with no real threats.
As an aside, SF did go down the path of "mo money" but they've since resurrected themselves under new leadership. I still don't trust them (at all) but they've at least pulled the malware injection from the site.
Huh, gotta love that. I've had to deny botnets from attempting the same on a fan site which had a similar effect. Spam the hell out of the forums and attempt to steal as much user data as possible. It's a daily chore to see if it's just a few hits or if it's hundereds of thousands of hits from the same IP range.
Anyway, again thank you for your quick action! Always appreciate responsive admins!
CC0/Public Domain would better fit "Without any strings attached". As you have it now attribution is required. Hardly anything to complain about but just though I'd point out that CC-BY licenses aren't "no strings attached".
Very much digging this set. Like I said in another comment, I wonder if these would benefit from better contrast?
This is again just a really quick tweak in PhotoShop with a brightness/contrast adjustment. Colors are a bit more saturated with better contrast between them so details kind of pop better.
You've submitted a lot of really good artwork but I wonder if these would benefit perhaps from a bit more contrast? The actual pixel work itself is great but there's very little contrast between the different shades.
For example, a very quick tweak in PhotoShop (not suggesting they necessarily use these exact colors):
This makes it easier to see the details.
Of course I'm somewhat colorblind to certain shades of red and green -- RedShrike could offer some good tips I think on color contrast.
If you want credit, don't use CC0. By definition CC0 assets don't require crediting so users are free to ignore your attribution notice. Use CC-BY or CC-BY-SA for this.
Second, the shape and color scheme is very much Coca Cola brand -- I'm not sure if anything would come of it but the red/white color scheme is their thing (industrial design maybe?). I would check with one of the moderators/admins to see if it pushes the line (I'm thinking probably not but it's always safe to check).
Anyway, I appreciate that you also included a .OBJ version -- I hate using blender to convert things around so this is very helpful to those of us who don't deal well with it. :D
EDIT:
Side note -- I promise I'm not trying to pick on you or be a butt head. I just realized that I also commented similarly on another submission of yours. It really isn't personal at all. Just trying to protect a community I've been part of for many years.
I think it's safe to say that the likeness to Dr. Robotnik constitutes a violation of IP rights. Should probably remove this (or edit it so it doesn't so closely resemble the character).
As a note, changing color scheme and name isn't enough to differentiate a character. This screams a Cease and Desist from Sega.
Would you be willing/able to upload a WAV version of this? As stated in some of my other comments MP3 is an encumbered format and converting from MP3 to OGG guarantees quality issues.

Digging the NES sprite color limits -- out of curiousity, is the palette also limited to the NES palette or just the sprite color restrictions?

I can already see a massive improvement in performance. Sucks that it was in fact a dos/ddos. Thanks for looking into it!

Probably a bit nit-picky but a couple of things:
If you want credit, don't use CC0. By definition CC0 assets don't require crediting so users are free to ignore your attribution notice. Use CC-BY or CC-BY-SA for this.
