You should be able to package
Thursday, December 29, 2016 - 17:58

You should be able to package both the .kra files and the .png inside a .zip file. That should upload ok. That way people would have this game-ready .png as well as the 'source' for edits. :)

"...are simple resizes and Unity editor formatting counted as "modifying" and relivant for sharing[?]"

Probably not, but if you want to be sure you're in the clear, I'd share the resized, final version, you end up using in-game. Whether that is totally neccessary is up to Skorpio, ultimately.

"...you can't technically share that outside of the Unity editor..."

Yeah, what is typically a convenient feature of Unity could be seen as 'technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits', so you may want to find a way to share a copy of the final version you use in-game in a manner separate from (but packaged with) the executable created by Unity. Maybe a zip file with a copy of the (un)modified asset inside that players download with the executable? This might not be fully necessary, but it is something to be aware of if the author feels unity's asset packing counts as DRM.

It is easy to get weighed down by the technicalities of CC BY-SA, and there are ongoing (and unending) discussions about it already, but asking questions when you're unsure is wise. When possible, contacting the author about such concerns is often the best and simplest solution. I'll let Skorpio address that directly if he so chooses.

To be clear, you can sell your game and use this skybox so long as you credit and link and share any modifications you make to this skybox under the same terms (CC-BY-SA license).

where did all these great effects come from?

Fun! I love this kind of game! My bronze axe was no match for the raw destructive might of a fluffy sheep, though. Frame rate seems prohibitively slow, but that might be the computer I'm using.

Nice work!

Nice. Has some potential. Good start.

I'm assuming combat damage isn't implemented yet? I seem to be immune to all damage and can't make a dent in the enemies either. Result: hoard of mutually impotent monsters following me around the dungeon as I open treasure chests. :)

movement seems pretty slow. I didn't know where "upper left corner" was on a 3D village, but I seemed to find the dungeon by accident, so that worked out. :)

you can post it in the programming forum: http://opengameart.org/forums/programming-0 or submit it as a document. screenshots of it in action will probably be very helpful in drawing the eyes of the 'right people' regardless of which place you post.

Also: creating a code section would go against the grain of OGA quite a bit and could have a negative impact on search. See also this similar discussion.

Keep it on topic, guys.

Monday, December 19, 2016 - 10:12

I'm willing to do much of this. I even have some authority to do it. I might even have the time to do it! :D

Unfortunately I lack the advanced access (or perhaps just the knowledge of how to access the advanced stuff) nor do I have the familiarity with drupal to execute some of these fixes. I tried reading up on some of the resources provided earlier, but they don't really cover the complex stuff like this. If there is some task that might help in the meantime (like refactoring the fuzzbolts inside the flux capacitor) that has to be done on a regular basis, I'm your person. I just need someone to show me how to do whatever mundane task that the other admins don't have time to do all the time.

p0ss? Master Redshrike? Any crash courses you can give me? I'll do the dirty work, just show me to the shovel.
