Groovy. Thanks!

Is it giving you an error
Monday, May 29, 2017 - 00:30

Is it giving you an error message? Can you copy and paste the tags you are trying to submit into a comment here?

As a side note, I just realized the Carrion Crawler is IP of Wizards of the Coast. Unfortunately that means this can't be licensed under an open license like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrion_crawler#Licensing

I have to mark this as having a licensing issue for now. Any chance of reworking this as a 'giant worm-bug' or something?

Nice! Be sure to add commas

Nice! Be sure to add commas between the tags, though. Otherwise they won't show up with the other art submitted for the challenge. See https://opengameart.org/content/art-tags

Nice!

Nice!

Though some of the tags are redundant. This is already in the 2D art category, so "2D" is unnecessary. And every submission on OGA is a game asset, so "game" and "asset" are unnecessary. See https://opengameart.org/content/art-tags for more information.

"Featured art" is randomly
Saturday, May 27, 2017 - 12:01

"Featured art" is randomly selected by the website upon every page load. It is weighted towards the most favorited submissions. Therefore, the top 100 to 200 favorited submissions show up frequently, and the submissions with less than 10 favorites (bottom of tens of thousands) will probably never show up.

All members can mark submissions as favorite, so i guess you could say the featured art is chosen democratically. Old submissions have been around longer and have had more time for people to "vote" on them.

Several of your tags are redundant. This submission is already in the "3D art" category, everything on OGA is free, Libre artwork, and people will search "karmabub" using the "submitted by" field, not the tag field. See https://opengameart.org/content/art-tags for more information.

can you include the other two

can you include the other two textures shown in the previews?

One reason preview images are
Thursday, May 11, 2017 - 09:52

One reason preview images are easy to see but difficult to download is because Bart considered them "all rights reserved unless otherwise noted".

Bart wrote: "The trouble with explicitly stating that the preview images must fall under the same license as the actual files is that that might not be true for some older preview images, and it's impossible to know which ones that doesn't apply to.  caeles points to a completely legitimate edge case.

We already have a rule that the preview images have to reflect what's in the actual content, but I prefer that this be kept a judgement call rather than an absolute hard and fast requirement.  The key is to avoid misleading previews.

Furthermore, I would actually kind of prefer that the preview images not be freely licensed, unless the author explicitly says they are.  When I get around to preserving the pages of deleted content, I want to be able to preserve the preview images so that people can identify what the content was, and if the preview images themselves are freely licensed, then in many cases that's essentially the same as allowing people to download the originals against the artist's wishes.  (Note:  I also plan to watermark the images on deleted content and perhaps do some other processing so as to make them otherwise impractical to use).

Flagging license issues is something I really hate having to do, particularly since a lot of time if it happens on someone's first post, they just abandon it and never come back.  I really would prefer to avoid adding additional situations where it would be necessary to do that.  I'd much rather tell people that preview images are all rights reserved unless otherwise noted."

There is no requirement that Previews be usable assets, only that they don't misrepresent what is in the downloadable files. Mockups are a great way to show how the asset is used, but the mockup itself isn't neccessarily in the downloads, it is usually not usable as an asset itself, and rarely misrepresents the content of the files.

Even if previews weren't openly-licensed, it would not mean OGA is violating trademarks because it would fall under fair use.

What version do you refer to?
Wednesday, May 10, 2017 - 12:54

What version do you refer to? It looks like you've made some significant adjustments since the original submission. The newer versions are becoming more and more your own unique style. Well done! I don't see anything in there that needs to be taken down, though you should keep updating the tileset here as you make improvements and changes. :)
