You aren't required to distribute it, but if you do distribute it in any form: on a website, in a tabletop game, over the phone (how?!), etc... it has to be licensed CC-BY-SA and given attribution.
yeah, unfortunately confusing credits files are a neccessary evil. We try to make it as clean and readable as possible, but art derived from multiple sources end up having rather complicated attribution. :/
As to your questions: Yes, those are the authors, though that list is somewhat incomplete. I recommend including the ones in bold as well:
bluecarrot16, Guillaume Lecollinet, Johann Charlot, cynicmusic, Surt, vk, Yar, Michele Bucelli (Buch), Richard Kettering (Jetrel), Zachariah Husiar (Zabin), Hyptosis, Ali-G, Coolkid782, Frode Lindeijer (Modanung), Hal9000, Lanea Zimmerman (Sharm), Leonard Pabin, Reid, William Thompson
Some credits screens can support clickable links, but if yours does not, yes you still have to include the text of a URL leading to this page as well as indicate the license it is under. For example:
"[LPC] Beach / Desert" by bluecarrot16, Guillaume Lecollinet, Johann Charlot, cynicmusic, Surt, vk, Yar, Michele Bucelli (Buch), Richard Kettering (Jetrel), Zachariah Husiar (Zabin), Hyptosis, Ali-G, Coolkid782, Frode Lindeijer (Modanung), Hal9000, Lanea Zimmerman (Sharm), Leonard Pabin, Reid, and William Thompson licensed CC-BY-SA 3.0: https://opengameart.org/node/80156
I strongly advise you to include the entire contents of the credits-beach-desert.txt file in your game's file structure as well. This ensures all licensing information and credit is satisfied.
@FoxyOfJungle: putting "bluecarrot16" in the credits doesn't really cut it. As indicated above, "See CREDITS-beach-desert.txt. You MUST credit all authors with the information in this file, and you must link back to this page on OpenGameArt."
However, when I hit 'last' then 'previous' to go to the page before the last one, I did notice some listings showed up on both the last and 2nd-to-last page, but I believe this is because the last page doesn't have enough items to fill the full page, so there is some overlap between the two. Are you seeing duplicate listings beyond this? If so, can you proivde a URL containing the parameters (like the one above)?
Choose.

Cool character. Where are the textures from that you used to retexture it?
Ah, I see them. Thanks. I'll investigate.
Unable to replicate the issue with the given instructions. Went through to page 10 without seeing any obvioius duplicates: https://opengameart.org/art-search-advanced?field_art_tags_tid=Fantasy&f...

I don't think it is just DB32. It's got Zabin's +8, doesn't it?
Hahah! Cool. "Yes" probably would have been enough of a start. In that case, why not check both license checkboxes?
Probably should put "Based on Battle for Wesnoth bases" in the attribution instructions section as well.
@_thebeastKid_: https://opengameart.org/content/faq#q-proprietary let me know if that does not answer your question, I'll be happy to provide more details. :)
Is Battle for Wesnoth dual licensed?
