I'm just referring to the illusion of movement -- a club swung at a decent speed should look blurry as it passes in front of our eyes. I think the second version captures that effect better than the first.
I wouldn't worry too much about posting new .gifs....we all know they're just previews. I looked at them in an animator at 32x32 and they look great.
Nice work. I really like that you included climbing, crawling and pushing....not enough platformer sprites have those animations.
Only suggestions would be to make the swipe effect on the melee attack a little lighter/more transparent, as it kinda pops out of nowhere. Maybe use streaks instead of a solid color? The eye is slightly off sync in either frames 3 or 4 as well - it's like he's looking back as he's swinging down.
Otherwise, looks great! Well done.
EDIT -- holy frijole, I didn't even notice the "run stop" pose....sweet!
No problem, extracting was easier than I thought and looks pretty good imho. Thanks for the contribution -- I'll let you know if this project ever develops.
Thanks -- I might have use for these but thought I'd check before extracting myself. Will let you know via this thread if the project develops.
These are pretty cool. Do you happen to have any elements separated by chance?

Denzi's is the best imho, if you don't mind working with 16x16
Nice. I've been meaning to do something with the dog and cat fighters for over a year now...good to see my procrastination rewarded with more content.
Awesome.
I never appreciated pixel art until I started developing games. The amount of detail you guys fit in to such a small space is just amazing.
Really looking forward to additional animations for this.

Melee attack looks much better imho -- maybe others will like the first one, but the new one "feels" more like blurred movement/motion than the other.
I think you've got all the states pretty well covered -- can even use the last frame of the jump state for ropes/swinging.
