I think it sounds like a thunder that is far away. If you want to make it sound like right above the player, it should be much more powerful.

Sounds cool, makes me think of the game Zelda on N64, when link is on his poney in the big prairie :)
Like the song but it's right the trumpets are a slightly too fast.

As for 3D models, I can tell you that low-poly but good-looking trees (with alpha textures) are highly reusable in nearly any kind of game, be it medieval, modern, racing, fighting, FPS, whatever.

But of course, make what's most fun for you to make, as it's what will look best ;)

I understand that it never existed, I just wanted to point out that it's exactly for this reason they named the game 0A.D.
