chests / loot should stay open when you come back to a map (For me it sounds weird that the loot in the chests respawn )
some sort of switch that stay on only for a short amount of time and sets back to "off" state. You can create some parts in the game where you have to be really fast.
enemies that (maybe randomly) spawn somewhere close to the player in some areas of the game. Maybe creatures coming out of the ground or falling from the sky
breakable items - some items get destroyed when using them. like the tools in MC or minetest.
I have also planned to create some artwork soon that may be usable in the flare game.

currently I have so much time so I started to work on a fountain (only the bottom part is finished, the rest are just basic placeholder meshes now)
for modelling and texturing I used blender. After that I edited the texture with a plugin for gimp called "G'MIC".
Then I used blender again for texture painting (fixing seams) and created the normalmap with awesome bump
when searching for 2d art tagged as fantasy:
on both pages 30 and 29 I can see these:
giant mushroom red and pixel art femur
After waiting a few minutes - when checking it again - I noticed that these items were at another position.
Edit: I checked some other pages - 28 and 27.
I made some screenshots and marked art red when seen on both sites

I would start with simple models first and focus more on gameplay, making the game more stable and playable.

i noticed 2 issues:
1: you can't license it as CC0 as other art used is CC BY , for example https://opengameart.org/content/spell-icon-collection-part-1 is CC BY 3.0
2: put a comma between your tags - you created one giant tag
