I'd just do something along the lines of breaking it up into panels, a few rivets/bolts, some nonsensical painted markings.
If you want it to look dirtier add some wear and tear, scratches on exposed edges, rust were paint is scraped away, maybe a dent or two from previous battles, grease spray around moving parts.

You can't post no-derivatives assets on OGA. Try reading the available licenses and if you don't want to post it under any of those terms then don't post it.
Sharm's perfectly correct. EGA is a horrible palette. It is programmatically defined (RGBI), rather than artistically (with the sole exception of the tweaked brown).
The quality of the hardware-enforced palette is no reflection on the quality of the games that use it.

I have difficulty enough motivating to create already without introducing the ugliness of money.
