I realized this morning that I've been visiting this site for over 10 years.

It started with games, then gifs, now back to games.

 

Anyways, I made an animation programming language that you type into a textarea. This means you can change a game, so I built a development studio around it. It's actually really simple.

For artists, this means you can just replace the images used in a game. The games get domain locked if you choose to publish, but for now it is free as I look for feedback.

If you try out it, please let me know what you think.

LPC Enemies?

I noticed there is no concept of LPC enemy sprite sheets yet. Enemies are typically drawn as large or much larger than battler sprites in games. Smaller ones for when there are multiple enemies on the screen, and larger ones for bosses. Unfortunately, most (but certainly not all) of the pixel art enemies I see on OpenGameArt.org are much smaller than the LPC sprites, and the "bosses" look puny compared with them. We would need to somehow have standards for enemy sprites while not restricting their size too much. They need to be "in scale" with LPC sprites.

Hi, I'm sbird, and I'm learning how to pixel art!

I'm making a platformer where you have to try to get materials to build a raft to escape a deserted island. I've made a tileset that looks beachy and the resources (water bottles, sticks, logs, and rope)

how should I improve my pixel art? The tileset looks okayish, but the resources don't look good at all. Is the outline too much? Any tips for me to improve my pixel art?
