I have a question for you! Are you the original composer and recorder of this track? I read that you wrote it's by a group called "Kaiser." I actually wanted to remix a portion of this song into one of my own songs. I am cautious though because I also found this track on spotify, and am wondering what the ramifications of using it would be. Is it actually Creative Commons 0 / Public Domain ? Would love a response to get some clarity on the legality of this track. Thanks! Also curious, are other tracks by the group "Kaiser" Creative Commons 0 ? If so which ones, and where can the licenses be found?
Yes, The Oracle is a member of the band Kaiser and has permission to share their tracks.
Artists often release the same asset on various platforms. Each platform can impose a different license from one another, even for the exact same asset. The licensing ramifications only change depending on where you obtained the asset. If you got it from OGA, the license is CC0. If you got it somewhere else, you must use the license indicated elsewhere.
It is indeed. These tracks have already been vetted for any licensing concerns. Thank you for being vigilant about such things.
Yes, there are other tracks by Kaiser that are also CC0, but not all Kaiser tracks are CC0, such as ones you may find on other platforms. However, all the Kaiser tracks on OGA are CC0, so if you find them here, they're CC0. The Oracle should be the only one uploading such songs here, so all such tracks are easily found at https://opengameart.org/users/the-oracle
Hi Yes this track is by the band named Kaiser. And Kaiser is my band. Everything by Kaiser was written and recorded by me. Everything By Kaiser Is in the Public Domain (Creative Commons 0). You are allowed to create derivative works of any Kaiser song without any restrictions. Yes my music is on spotify. Only one copy of a song can be uploaded to spotify. However if you create a remix you are allowed to upload your remix to any streaming service under any licence you please. The original song by kaiser will always remain in the public domain (Creative Commons 0) and can be used by anyone. If you create a derivative song such as a remix that remix version is your property and you can use it commercial if you like and you can copy right it if you like. The only song by Kaiser that is not in the public domain is "Den Store Søvn" which was written by Varg Vikernes of Burzum. and released on Thulean Perspective under the Creative Commons CC BY licence.
I hope this help.
