Still, he has remained strong through the years and is still fiercly loyal to those in his command.

If there isn't anything taken directly from the original game it's probably fine. You can't copyright ideas, after all.
For the record, those tiles aren't isometric but obliquely projected. It is a neat and underused projection, especially in recent times. Good job!
