not sure why it was hard to find. type game art in google and its the top site listed. if you were looking for game art i would think that is what you would search for
you may want to add some kind of symbol next to the characters with permadeath if your trying to allow colorblind people to still be able to figure out things. THey cant see the red but they could identify with a symbol for the permadeath characters.
I think the main character blends in with the green background way to much. he looks ok in shops but once he goes into that green area he fades away into the background. This happens a little in the shop as well with the armor and the back wall.
I think its good work I just dont like alot of the colors being used so far and I certainly cant do better so im not much help really.
any way these can all be grouped together as one zip as a additional link. it would be more user friendly that way to be able to grab them all at once.

ive seen a pretty similar creature on cg website. its not "exactly" the same, but its pretty close.
