I think flare does not support stairs or slopes.when encountering stairs in flare it warps you doesnt it instead of climbing the stairs. I think this is something you would have to add support of yourself. This is whjy I linked those two things because I thought you wanted to add support for it yourself.
most of my google searching basically talks about giving each tile a height property and identifying slope tiles that calculate angle based on tile height.
This entire situation reminds me of back when the web was a baby and not many companies had a website so there was a time when folks rushed the domain name registration system doing things like registering sites like cocacola.com and the like hoping one day since they owned the domain these large companies would pay them large sums of money to have their domains back. People were registering every company.com website they could think of that didnt have a website yet. This ended up being a waste of time due to new laws preventing people from holding companies hostage of the domains for companies that they owned. this situation with NFTs kinda reminds me of that for some reason.
what happens if I post a piece of artwork that I made and siomeone takes it and NFTs it. Does that mean I lose copyright of my piece because they have the proven original or can someone eventually say you cant use that its mine I own the original. should artists be worried? I know there is no enforcemnent of it now but what happens if there is later and it is used as proof of copyright ownership.
I guess I never considered they could be using SDL with something else for example. That makes a lot more sense to me thank you. I saw some artists on artstation that showed some tiles they made for the game so it does use tiles. In the editor they showed you could modify the terrain in 3d pushing and pulling at the geometry and also move the camera in 3d. so im thinking the tool they use may generate tiles also from a 3d ground mesh. The tool they use is so impressive its no mystery why the game looks so good. the tool they made really pays off and is powerful.
It seems that this discussion is similar to fan based art based on IP. Many discussions have been had and many arguments have been made in both directions. I dont think anyone disaagrees in either case that in general its a bad idea. I would summerize the same for fan based games. In general its a bad idea regardless if anything comes of it.
not sure if your done with the fruit or if these would even be different enough but near where I live they usually sell plums and nectarines. also they sell nearby a tiny orange called a clementine. You have such a good variety I might have missed it if you have them alrerady.

I thought I saw a random YouTube video not to long ago that was a new kings quest that was being made. It was in the spirit of the old game.
a rock solid upload
