With the addition of the Lost
Wednesday, March 7, 2018 - 04:51

With the addition of the Lost Garden sprite, I don't think you should list "CC0" as a license for the whole submission; I think your attribution image makes it quite clear that some parts are CC0, but if someone were to use the entire submission they would need to use CC-BY, so that's what the submission license should be.

Zabin, can't wait to backport some of the alternative trees and the funky new cactus :)

Ataos: No, as it stands if you use the entire submission you must respect the CC-BY-SA license, as that's the only license that all of the parts can be licensed under.

However, I am willing to license any of my edits (those found in the submission here: https://opengameart.org/content/lpc-beach-desert) under the same license as the original. That is, if you wanted to use the bones I edited from Hyptosis' Bone Planet submission, you can use those under CC0. If you wanted to use the  sand from Whispers of Avalon, you could use it under GPL v2+. Zabin will have to decide whether he's willing to offer the same deal on this submission (again, my offer only applies to my submission: https://opengameart.org/content/lpc-beach-desert).

Quick update: got a bit

Quick update: got a bit distracted from decorations this weekend and have mostly been working on cliffs/mountains. Now that Zabin's main ZRPG set with the rocks is out, I'm inspired to churn this one out :) Probably 85% done (I did a lot of tidying and throwing away stuff that wasn't working), mostly just need to finish organizing things and tidying up. I've also been working on a general "terrain" tileset that I hope to release at the same time, along with a Tiled file so it can be easily used.

Making progress on the Victorian set though! I just want to fill the planters with some variations from my plants set. Any other ideas? I'm also okay leaving some extra space to fill in later.

@AntumDeluge, Yep, the two keyboards on the right are derivatives of Reemax's piano on the left and Sharm's counters on the top.

@ElizaWy, I wasn't thinking of any particular type of wood, just the colors. I tried to group things that were predominantly wood into the same set so they could easily be recolored. I'll probably do a white version too, then leave it up to others if they wanted to recolor further.

Other than complicated stuff like chairs, it's pretty easy to do the alternate rotations of things, since the back and sides are usually simpler than the front :p

Amazing, Zabin! So excited :)

Amazing, Zabin! So excited :) Here's my WIP LPC recolor; I'm gonna start over from your new version because I like the organization better.

Also I spot a few Hyptosis tiles in ZRPGtrees.png . May want to add him to your optional credits!

The medieval decorations in my WIP thread have some more statues you could use. I think Reemax's technique of making character sprites using your favorite base and then reducing them to greyscale could be used to make a number of cool statues.

https://opengameart.org/content/lpc-compatible-ancient-roman-architecture has a couple statues too.

Just to be clear, failing to

Just to be clear, failing to explicitly credit yourself does NOT mean your work is assumed to be CC0; if something is not specifically credited, I think it's safe to assume it's the work of the author (especially when everything else is so clearly spelled out, as it is in all of Reemax's submissions) and that it's licensed the same as the rest of the submission.

I think what AntumDeluge was asking though is if you'd be willing to license the books and the cobwebs you added as CC0, knowing that Sharm's original shelf would keep its original license. But I'm not sure why he cares, since his whole asset will need to be at least CC-BY anyway, and crediting "Lanea Zimmerman (Sharm) & Tuomo Untinen (Reemax)" isn't much longer than just crediting "Lanea Zimmerman (Sharm)"

Eliza, I'm trying to make 4
Wednesday, February 28, 2018 - 19:17

Eliza, I'm trying to make 4 rotated versions of everything that makes sense. Here are the furniture sheets I've been working on. Still need to do the dressers and beds (I was trying to fit everything in 512x512, but doesn't look like that's gonna happen, so might as well go all out and do all rotated versions of everything).

Actually, maybe you could help me with some color ramps for the "upholstery" one (I know you made a bunch for your clothing sets)... I don't really like the ones I've made, other than yellow.

I also plan to move the bed sheets to the upholstery sheet and make a blonde variation of the whole "dark-wood" tilset (the blonde version I uploaded is recolored from an older version of the dark-wood one). Any other ideas for interior wooden furniture?

Yeah, I was imagining a snowed-on and non-snowed-on version of the outdoor stuff. I think the only stuff that might need 4 variants would be plants, and even then spring/summer can look pretty much the same for a lot of stuff. Even just green/brown/dead/snowed-covered would be plenty.
