Continuing my series of LPC-styled outdoor assets, here are some tiles to use with sandy places—beaches, deserts, etc. Includes shells, cacti and desert-y plants of various sizes, some knarled, dry-looking trees, bones, and various sandy formations.
Actual sand is not included; preview uses sand from https://opengameart.org/content/lpc-sandrock-alt-colors and water from https://opengameart.org/content/lpc-animated-water-and-waterfalls (slightly modified). As usual, please let me know if I have attributed someone incorrectly.

Looks beautiful!
You are awesome for doing this! I'm going to be busy for a while playing with all the art you just recently submitted.
Realized I forgot to attribute tilesets by Sharm and Hyptosis that I used in here; I've added the following to the credits file:
[LPC] Arabic Elements
Lanea Zimmerman (Sharm), William Thompson
CC-BY 3.0 / GPL 3.0 / GPL 2.0 / OGA-BY 3.0
https://opengameart.org/content/lpc-arabic-elements
Lots of free 2d tiles and sprites by Hyptosis
Hyptosis, Zabin
CC-BY 3.0
https://opengameart.org/content/lots-of-free-2d-tiles-and-sprites-by-hyp...
I extracted some of the elements for a Stendhal drop-in replacement tileset. I didn't notice the footprints in any of the submissions listed in CREDITS-beach-desert.txt, so I just attributed them to you. Please let me know if I should change that. Thank you again bluecarrot16.
Edit: I just found them in the Whispers of Avalon: Desert Tileset. Sorry, I'll fix that & include Leonard Pabin in the attribution.
Edit: Fixed.
I'll just use the shells and starfish, so I'll put your name: "bluecarrot16" in the credits. if you wish I can change this.
@FoxyOfJungle: putting "bluecarrot16" in the credits doesn't really cut it. As indicated above, "See CREDITS-beach-desert.txt. You MUST credit all authors with the information in this file, and you must link back to this page on OpenGameArt."
Sorry, but it's kind of confusing the license text, the authors are these?
bluecarrot16, Guillaume Lecollinet, Johann Charlot, cynicmusic, Surt, vk, Yar, Buch, Jetrel, Zabin, Hyptosis
Even if the link is not clickable, still worth it? because it is a credits screen.
yeah, unfortunately confusing credits files are a neccessary evil. We try to make it as clean and readable as possible, but art derived from multiple sources end up having rather complicated attribution. :/
As to your questions: Yes, those are the authors, though that list is somewhat incomplete. I recommend including the ones in bold as well:
Some credits screens can support clickable links, but if yours does not, yes you still have to include the text of a URL leading to this page as well as indicate the license it is under. For example:
I strongly advise you to include the entire contents of the credits-beach-desert.txt file in your game's file structure as well. This ensures all licensing information and credit is satisfied.
To clarify, two of the cacti were based on one I made for The Mana World in an ancient past. The original version is now also available through OGA.
Hi Modanung,
I was following Zabin's comment here https://opengameart.org/comment/65559#comment-65559 which indicated you had given permission for that cactus (which I linked to http://pixeljoint.com/pixelart/13549.htm in the credits) to be licensed CC-BY-SA 3.0 / GPL v2. I will update the attribution in CREDITS-desert.txt to your OGA submission if you prefer.
I am also working on an update to this submission which replaces that cactus with a re-drawn one that is more loosely inspired but I think better fits the LPC style.
Yes please. ツ
Ah, cool! Never really bothered with palettes in those days. But I guess it's easier to reduce the number of colours than to add detail anyway. シ
Depends :p I think it's just a matter of different style. LPC is flatter and less detailed than the style you were going for for TMW. Here's the version I am working on. Still needs more shadow work but I think it captures that spirit of the original in a more consistent style.
