You already improved it from a few days ago, but I still find links difficult to spot due to their low contrast with the background and normal text. I have no better alternative to propose though, as I am not very creative with colors :/
I agree with whoever said that it's less relaxing to read that wide lines of text. But here again, I have no constructive feedback...
Edit: in the "edit post" window, the whole edit field is misplaced in FF4. (it is below the "your name" and spans both columns.
Edit2: I could not find a "mark all forums as read" link anymore.
Edit3: I also would like more art in the frontpage. But either you make the theme of fixed width, or you put them centered, because having them on the left and then the right side empty just looks bad. I have a fairly low (widescreen) resolution (1300 or so) and still lots of empty space up there.
Edit4: The reply buttons in the blogs are out of place, they are at the right place in the forum though.
A wise decision, but what's with all the empty space on the left? ;) more seriously when you do the change, you should make it very very obvious to even non-blog/forum readers that it's not OGA 2 yet. Maybe change the title to OpenGameArt.org 1.5 or whatever else.
I'm too late, but a hint for the future: in my experience, about 80-90% of "weird" bugs in C++ are uninit. variables, even when it totally doesn't look like it.
While I'm at it, one more opinion I have is that it will come naturally the way I described it, because nowadays the games have to rely on user-made content to have a big lifetime, and I see more and more of the open source game makers realize that. All those things just take sooooo much time in the open source world... (I do understand why that is.)
I honestly think they begin to consider the FOSS stuff a small but real concurrent. And that's the way they deal with. It looks very similar to what microsoft did with their "open source" licenses and then with the Express versions of the VS products. I'm not really sure what to think of it tho.
I personally think it's impossible for a hobby project/group to create an engine that is easy to use and covers most/all game types. In my opinion, it would be way more useful if there was a really good one per game type. At least one very flexible game with easily editable and scriptable maps and a good editor. In some areas we already start having such games, we're not quite there yet, but it is already much better than 5 years ago.
Also, ogre looks quite good right now. I saw someone working on an editor for ogre scenes which looked good too.
I would like to see real support for the weekly (and other?) challenges. That is, I don't want to favorite in order to vote, because I only favorite things I intend to use in my game.

You definitely need to add that "irc channel" and "chat from your browser" somewhere in the page head! That's the way I found my way to the irc :)

Just to note that I wasn't that anon dude :)

I didn't know about OctaForge, thanks for the info, it looks promising
