And those modifications would have to rise to the level of being a "new artistic creation" to be elligible for a new copyright. Simple color changes, as one example, would not cut it, because anyone could do that.

Ah. Symbolic icons. There are a few games that take this route. These could be really cool. Thanks!

I know it's hard to believe, but it's a little big (even at the small, non-blown up version) and has a few too many colors to be genuine NES, but it is NES-esque and looks pretty cool.

Love it. Maybe a bit too unique for some uses, but it's original, so positive overall.

Not really. It's like a coffee house, good library, chocolate shop or an upscale home. Wouldn't really work for most ideas of gothic medieval or sci-fi settings. You'd want something more industrial, metallic or etc. for that, unless it's meant to be calming.

Just my opinion anyway.

But, hey, different strokes for different folks.

The site you go to for their license as they see it has an email I've received no response when I emailed that. They said on another thread here that they were considering it, or something like that.

I sent an email to the site but couldn't get OGA to add it at the time.

Said something like that you can't add license restrictions to CC-By. You can't see nobody else is allowed to distribute it when the license explictly allows people too. You could change it by making the required attribtution if you do use it link to the site. That kind of does both things, and seems to fit the license better.

No idea if they check that email, but it went out long enough that not responding there, and I think saying something like "considering it" on another thread here (considering??? you follow the license or don't and stop trying to do both) and now doing the same thing is willfully ignoring the problem.

Easy fix. The artist seems to be shooting his own foot to ignore free advice.

I think this is a vicious cycle. I personally see no updates for a while on the Patreon page, so I wonder why I should donate more. It seems like giving money away for nothing new. I understand as someone who had sites in the past that there are expenses, but I can't see backend costs. A typical user here would understand even less.

I also wonder how much the hosting is. If high traffic is really a problem, then why do we pay for lots of people to get stuff for free and expect a small number of people to pay for it?

I know I am more coder art than real artist, but a few favorites doesn't really equate to making people want to submit much., It can be hard to repay them for their effort and time also. And it could be more a problem for the real artists, who are the lifeblood of this site.

Feel free to private message me or email me about donations, if you want. I'd rather that stuff not be public. Or if there's a private forum with only friends of the site on it, please add me to that.

But if you click 2-D art as a category, which is usually what I did because the rest interests me less, the More option always defaults to showing the oldest stuff instead of the most recent, which made that feature useless to me because it was always old, old stuff instead of new stuff.
