I genuinely appreicate the feedback. I've been experimenting with Haxe/OpenFL and HaxeFlixel for a bit and it's definitely more interesting than AS3 and flixel. I've been slowly plugging away at making an infinite runner and I'm almost ready to upload the tutorial to the blog I started about Haxe game dev. I'm not trying to plug my blog but if you're interested I'll be happy to provide the URL. Once I have a full game tutorial on it and a finished, working game I'll use that blog as the project url on my profile here on OGA.
Now that I finally found my card your patreon count is up to 48! If I had to guess I'd say there are a lot of people that love OGA enough to help keep it going. Good job Bart, you made a solid and happy community here. Keep it going. (don't forget my badge ;)
By the way, I posted the link on my facebook. Maybe I'll recruit someone by accident to help maintain my favorite site.
@Bertram
You have an awesome game already, you are a true artist. I wish I could get my head out of my butt and make something besides demos and art! I'll get there eventually, just takes time and resource. If you have a request I'm all ears.
I've come to some conclusions. I'm not making an engine for a game, I'm trying to make a game. I'm not reinvent the wheel. That said, I've switch development away from AS3 to HaXe and I'm using HaXeFlixel as the engine.
It's preliminary still but I have working examples that show me how to do everything I've made so far without sinking a huge amount of effort into retooling. The way I was making the framework in AS3 turned out to be similar to flixel so it's not a dramatic shift. I'm taking a week off from work to tie up loose ends and because I'm tired of never getting time to work on this! Will post updates in coming days.
I thought the exact same thing lol. Maybe a better choice would have been to draw the sword facing the opposite direction or maybe change the position to be a little further from her neck. Probably on top of the shoulder more would make it look better.
I forget exactly where I saw the demon that inspired my LPC demon but this one seems to ping a memory. I think this is what started my idea. Thanks surt.
You hit 50 patreons and you're almost up to $500! It's working!

Looks wonderful. I love seeing female characters in games. Makes it so much more interesting!
