Good job Danimal. I'll upload him to the Open Dungeons repository asap.

Ah, MechCommander was one of my favourite games, too. I prefer RTT or TBT over RTS games.

I'm looking forward to seeing your new mech parts.

Hehe, Cem, are you trying to build Lego mechs? :) That would be kinda funny as well. It reminds me of my old Mechcraft game idea that I had a while ago: http://forum.freegamedev.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1520&hilit=mechcraft There's even a FOSS voxel engine, if some programmer is interested in making this game: http://www.volumesoffun.com/polyvox-about/

For modular mech parts you probably just need standardized weapon mounts and joints. Take a look at my latest wip mech for example. It has two shoulder pods with different weapons which could get switched easily (the mounts are still rather rudimentary, though :) ). http://forum.freegamedev.net/download/file.php?id=3184&mode=view

The vignette effect makes the scene look a bit more interesting, but if it affects the performance too much, I would probably turn it off as well. Hopefully it won't take too long till FLARE gets a lighting system, as good lighting is pretty important to create an interesting atmosphere.

This workshop is a very nice idea. I concur with Julius that the models should be at least unwrapped. That's the job of a modeler anyway.

I just hope that the modular design doesn't lead to mechs that look too similar. You probably still need different weight classes, or do you want to stick some tiny legs to a heavy torso? :)

Oh yes Danimal I forgot to mention that Cutiebot 2 is partly based on your design and my cutification. :) http://opengameart.org/forumtopic/steampunk-miner-robot-wip

If anyone wants to use it please give credit to Danimal, too.

Cutiebot 3 is based on my Thunderbird mech: http://opengameart.org/content/thb-5j-thunderbird

Cool. :) Is anyone working on a FOSS GTA-like game? We loved to play GTA 2 on LAN parties.

Hehe, I was going to say the same. Good job.

I just removed the apostrophe and it works now. I wonder if the LPC entry is broken, too. Should I submit it again on the LPC site?

4. When exactly is the deadline? What time/timezone?

Found it in the rules section. End Date: June 30th, 11:59 PM Pacific Daylight Time
