the method I used to create this was just straight from memory. I didn't use any references when creating this tile set. The similarities were intentional however I intended that there be enough differences to differentiate from the original redesign from the game which is why I decided to not use any references. after reading your comment I guess I failed in that regard.
Should you require me to remove this set I understand and would gladly remove it should that be your request.
this is AWESOME. I've followed your youtube for ages and you are the one who taught me GameMaker: studio. I have watched all your Lets Pixel Tutorials and they are one of the main reasons I have pursued my pixel art.
Long story short:
This looks AMAZING and OMG OMG OMG OMG HeartBeast is on OpenGameArt. :D
Hey. Thank you. It's late here and I'm about to go to bed. I'll listen to your tracks tomorrow.
I would also like to mention that production on this game has sort of halted for a period of time. (It is still being worked on... kinda). Myself and another member of BFS Game (The studio making the game) have started our own project which has taken up a portion of our time. plus with work time to develop games has become much more rare. I have tomorrow off so I can work on those two games.
that's already been done. Now we are working on maps and character designs. I finalised the physics three weeks ago and the combat last week. All I need now are characters, animations and maps.
sorry, that's probably my Aussie dialect.
The final model count for the first two chapters is:
4 playable characters
1 princess
1 king
3 bandits / pirates
1 knight / soldier
4 villager male
3 villager female
2 villager children male and female
1 shopkeeper NPC female
1 shopkeeper NPS male
6 monsters varied field, forest, snow.
2 Bosses
A LOT of these models will be placed throughout the game with texture changes.
The most detailed models have to be:
playable characters
king
princess
Bosses
I am currently making a base to go off for all the models to save modelling from scratch for each as it is A LOT of models!!!
aw look. It's not a big issue for now, no rush as of yet. I have a base model I've been using but I would at lease like to have a character model. I can make the models if I need to but as it stands with schooling and work I have minimal time to work on the game.
and no. I'm not in it for the money. Its neither quick, nor easy to do this. haha.
It is pretty ambitious. It will be my first 3D game. Because of the large scope of what we are trying to achieve, we have decided to release the game in Chapters. We don't know how long the final game will be but we have written a total of 8 chapters. some shorter than others. The game has two main arcs with four chapters in each, with a time skip between the two.
Without the proper help, this will take forever to complete as we only have two programmers and only one of them can work in it as of now (me). When the game finally releases however is when we will start making money so people are reluctant to join because of the work they'll put in without knowing if they'll get paid what they think they are owed.
Part of me wishes I kept this a two man job but I know how much work goes into making a game of this calibre and I know our team is completely understaffed. I am grateful to my team for helping with this project so far and it would be great if people were willing to help us out
