@mayorofgaming, they never officially said about it, I just moaned about the problem and an elder suggested I change it and that I shouldn't of saved it there, but gamemaker installs it that way I'm sure. Just a troubleshoot really. Hopefully if you find the project files you may be able to recover it piece by piece.

@mayorofgaming, that's sad to here you having to start again. I use GMS2 as well and I feel your pain, for I also have had projects completely fail to load or even save after spending hours on them. It is a good engine but it's not without the odd hiccups here and there, and it is still early days for the software. Fortunately I'm still using GMS 1 aswell. Look through your gamemaker files, is it saving the projects in documents? They advise to change that setting, that causes some issues apparently.

@hunterko, Hi, yes i see your posts on twitter and shared them, it looks good.

However i have an issue at the moment with what you have said.

" I was working on the engine for a different reason a couple of weeks before the jam and it wasnt working at all, so i figured why not keep working on it for the jam. i'm pretty sure its still a valid entry?"

We have already had a discussion about pre-coded base code for projects for the jam, and have said that using such things is OK as long as any admendmants, changes, adding or what ever coding/programming is not touched or programmed until the start of the jam itself. In this case though it seems you have been coding 2 weeks before the event started, so on that basis i would have to sadly say no, its not a valid entry. :(

This jam is a fun competition and gives an opportunity for the assets here to be used is a fun way, and I have tried to set it up in a way where it is fair and open to most things with only a few rules here and there and i'm pleased you have used the assets here for your project. But this is a competition and your comments above from what ive read would suggest an unfair advantage on the programming side.

I've been keeping a close eye, yes there are some submitted, a couple of them were set up at the beginning as game pages ready for submissions, it's been great to see the progress some are making on the jam. We are at the half way stage now! Hope you are all going strong! I'm really excited at what I have seen so far.:)

An app for OGA sounds really
Saturday, July 14, 2018 - 00:28

An app for OGA sounds really good, but like I mentioned above, if all it would do is allow post threads and general interaction the same as the browser then don't see the point of one, why not just have a Facebook or Instagram page. I get notified of anything via email, it's a lot of effort and cost, and I think that effort could be better spent refreshing the website itself and adding the features mentioned in the other threads.

maybe an creators tool, asset creator, generator, or music maker that was able to link straight to OGA and its community. That might be beneficial to OGA and encourage assets through an application like that, but that's even more work and cost. Just my thoughts.:)

I'm not sure how useful an app would be other than to view OGA post and recent uploads, which the website itself does just fine. I'm always on my iPad and I have downloaded sprites and uploaded art to OGA using it and it does it ok. I've had the occasional failed forum posts.I think that's more of an allowance issue from time to time or server timeout. I'm not against the idea, be interesting how it could be utilised.:)

@withthelove last year I did
Tuesday, July 10, 2018 - 11:58

@withthelove last year I did play every game all the way through to the end, and as I did I checked the assets that were being used, and a couple of games were a complete nightmare. Some games didn't have the credit.txt file included, some I had to wait until the end of the game to see them, so to make it a bit easier for me I made the credits at the menu compulsory, But only for the OGA assets, not for all assets because it's only those I'm focused on just to check they are 6 being used as part of the rule. I could of said put a credits.txt folder in there, perhaps maybe I should next year? But figured it would be better for the assets authors to see thier name in lights than hidden in a folder.:) honestly I am completely open to how everyone would rather do it.

its not hard work really, but it can be frustrating when you can't find an asset and spend a long time trying to locate them, when they should be easy to find. Your help would be appreciated if you find some issues.:)
