One thing about this tileset strikes me as odd: the wharfs. Maybe it's just the way the preview is constructed, but the small wharf near the top of the pond appears to be in practically perfect condition except that there's a section missing from the middle. Other than careful and deliberate use of a chainsaw, I can't imagine any real-world damage to a wharf that would result in such a clean break.

Furthermore, on the shore side, the remaining section of wharf does not appear to have adequate support: the planks near the break seem to be floating in thin air.

The other wharf on the lower left similarly appears to be lacking in any kind of supports in the two spots with missing planks. But perhaps the planks fell off because a poor workman failed to properly support them!

I like the wharfs. The odd missing pieces give a strange story.

Of course, it's all CC-BY-SA so feel free to fix them.

I really love how all of this is put together! The wharfs do strike me as odd, but it does have a neat kind of quality and character that makes the wharfs rather interesting.

"Furthermore, on the shore side, the remaining section of wharf does not appear to have adequate support: the planks near the break seem to be floating in thin air."
From what I've seen this sort of damage is pretty typical.  The boards are nailed to supports below, which are in turn anchored to the bottom by the large posts.  The straight edges on the breaks in the rightmost wharf are a touch odd, though at that resolution I don't see it as too much of an issue.

The one that looks odd to me is the "pile of wood" tile that's used a couple of times.  something about the lighting is odd.

But yeah, this is an awesome tileset, and you (Clint) should be proud both for the parts you made yourself and for bringing the other art together into a cohesive whole.

I disagree with the planks floating in air.  They could have undersupport from the post nearby. In my opinion is shows the dispair that the wharf is in since even the extra supports have started to give way.  Although, stepping on it would probably collapse i still think its a good effect.

This is an amazing piece of work.   Your cave, this grassland, I can't wait to see what other high quality works you produce.  You very well may inspire me into doing some adventure/rpg !

Edit:

I didn't realize that Flare was a OSS RPG! Very cool!

Is this fully made from the mentioned 3D art and textures or are there bits & bobs not in there? IE, if I were to try to make this exact scene in 3D using that input would that be possible? :-)

The flare git rep is a dead link. How do I get flare maps to work in Tiled. I've loaded the png and can drag and drop but the thing thinks all the 3 high walls, 4 high bildings etc should me laid out flat. It makes building a pest. I'm trying to learn how to do the basic map building first.

I'm a real noob not a programmer. I want drag and drop for everything :) Just lazy I guess.

@Wesleybruce I updated the flare git link. https://github.com/clintbellanger/flare-game/tree/master/tiled/grassland

Try the grassland_template.tmx file. It has the tileset set up correctly in Tiled.

OK expect a new level or two.

I know there are a few buildings, I've looked at them in blender, I may modify the shed to be placable in L shapes and other layouts. I.E. adding a gable and joiner set. Got to start somewhere.

Hi,

I noticed this tileset is a mix of iso and ??? tiles.

As a Tiled newby how would I go about merging these two things to make one level?

Nevermind, I was looking at it wrong!

Love this tileset.

I used it in a Demo project for the Tululoo Game Creator (HTML5/Canvas).

Unfortunately this game creator no longer has anyone to maintain it and the community is practically dead.

But I only recently found it and love its simplicity and the fact its pretty much just a Javascript wrapper/helper - so I can dump any useful Javascript functions straight in - or as extensions and they just work.

I put together the isometric example in a matter of hours having never put together an isometric example/demo or game before. (only read about the theory).

Hopefully I can breath some life back into Tululoo. :)

GREAT TILES!

I'm trying to use it in Tiled. What should I add as the "roof" of the rocks part in the upper left corner? (And how do I add it?)
