the tmx file is a file for the tiled editor, i created this file for the preview image. my target was that it helps understanding the tiles (like combinations with multiple layers)
the file does not work well with the newest version, because i have edited the buildings-part of the tileset (position change), but that is not so important. The tmx file isn't really part of the tileset , i added it so you can see how i made the preview.
this is 2D and not 3D, 3D is for real models made with a 3D apllication only.
i made an extended version of this now, see here http://opengameart.org/content/3d-castle-dungeon-tileset-extended
it has also a new gate with better quality and a lot of other new elements.

i added the other color variant now. it was hard to make this, because there were some differences.
great, i really love your 3D style / texturing
great!!!
i love these, i have planned to turn them into 3d sometime(for my planned 3d platformer game called laundredsheep), but i don't know when i do this.
here i have a preview of some assets i made for an extended version i will release soon (95% tomorrow)
and another one from me:
http://opengameart.org/content/free-3d-castle-dungeon-tileset
as an alternative to the dungeon
i even work on an extended version of this
EDIT: the textures look a bit blurry in the preview, that's because i made a screenshot in rendered view this time
that's not such bad, but i would use the second or third image as main preview, so everyone can see what you have done.
