Speaking as a console game developer here: you're free to use these icons in your games. Console games need to be approved by the platform holders (PlayStation, Nintendo, MS, etc), and they know that you need buttons like these to communicate how your game works to you players. There are some guidelines, if you stick to them then it's no problem. If you don't stick to them the platform holder will tell you. An asset bundle like this would be considered fair use - as long as you use them for the intended purpose (implementing them into your game).
We shipped multiple console games with these icons and it has always been okay. Since they look like the official icons it's easier to keep the platform holders happy anyway.
Unfortunately I noticed a few problems with the Switch buttons.
- The SL & SR buttons are missing from the pack (these are the shoulder buttons that become visible when you detach the Joy-Con).
- This pack lists LT, RT, LB, and RB shoulder buttons. The Switch doesn't use these buttons, the correct buttons are L, R, ZL, and ZR. If you use different names your game will fail Nintendo Lotcheck.
I've just created all the correct buttons. Attached to this post are new SL & SR buttons, as well as all the correct buttons for L, R, ZL, and ZR. They're based on the original art from the creator, but if they're okay with it feel free to use these for your Switch project instead.
Yeah, they're missing. If you scroll back through the comments you'll see that I've posted them already though, feel free to use those :).
