When do I have to decide? Tomorrow I'm going to plan when to learn for my test week , which will be 4-8 april.. I think I have about 20 hours.. The last 14 hours for sure, and saterday about 6 hours, totalling 20 hours. I don't have much coding experience, a little C++ (irrlicht), and I once worked trough the entire SDL tutorial, but don't remember much about it. But since team size is not restricted, I doubt that's a problem.
One thing: you should take a look at the balancing. Magical seems way stronger then offense. I tried to fight the caves as a lvl 4 with pure offense, no luck.. I tried the same as a lvl 4 pure magical: not piece of cake, but possible.
[edit] I found the thing I did wrong.. Defense is critically important, since if you do 1 upgrate in defense, you'll get heal.
If you are able to create a game, you are also able to convert files. Having files in many different formats seems like a huge waste of storage space. The only exception is if you made a model in 3ds max. Then you should upload both the .max file and a result file, something like collada. Any format blender can import without too much trouble is fine to me.
If someone really wants to use a certain model, he certainly wants to spend 10 seconds converting it.
Maybe you should use more shades of the same color, for the gray for example, 3 or 4 graycolors, so it looks a bit more three-dimensional. But that depends on the style you want to create.
Grouping/packing art would be nice, because it's not only important to have nice art, but also to have a collection of models in one style/era. With grouping/packing I mean that artists get the option to group the art in the ui, and (if not too hard to code) zip them together when downloading. Example:
We have three pieces of art in the same style. In the current system it is not easy to find out about them all. What I suggest is that you can search for groups of art, for example: medieval weaponry. Art packs Can just be a number of links below another.
What could also be nice is to auto-exclude any license the art doesn't have in common (for groups), so if one has cc-BY and cc-by-sa, but the other only has cc-by-sa, the group will have cc-by-sa.
Link? As far as I know such thing doesn't really exist. The two options are: virtualisation (for example: virtual box) and wrapping (wine). Your game doesn't work on wine (at least out of the box), because of visual C. The other option, virtualisation, is really illperforming, it's very slow, and some applications don't even work.
If you need need a translator for Dutch in the future, just ask me.. The only thing to remember is: Traduir, c'est trahir, translating is betraying, you can't expect a translation to be a full replacement of the original.
I would really like to see allied npc's, which you can communicate and trade with. A system like oblivion could be nice for talking.

Do you still have the source files somewhere? I'd like to remix it into a long track (about 30 mins or so) for background music.
It sounds nice. I had to change my dbb and dsc settings, because the bass is pretty loud otherwise :)

That rule only applies to me.. You may get help from other people, but I'm very reluctant to helping projects where I can't use the final product.
No linux client -> no help is my motto for creating art.. Sounds rude, but.. It's also rude to exclude people from the usage of your software :).
