Good sounds! I think the sounds most needed are explosions and ice/electricity spell sounds. Specifically: the sound of an ice spell freezing somebody and somebody frozen being shattered into pieces. Electric arrows.
@wrayn3: BOFH's license is the 3-clause BSD license, which is very permissive and allows what you suggested! :) I don't know a more fitting exisiting open source game engine.
@wrayn3: My recommendation - if you are more interested in making a game than programming everything from ground up - would be to take BOFH and use its level editor to create some levels.

There are different voices and changing pitch gives some amount of flexibility.
