yes i know the zip files have
Tuesday, June 23, 2020 - 16:18

yes i know the zip files have a lot more then preview does but my point is their all _technically_ unique but most of them _look_ the same

i bet i could make 2500 _unique_ axes from the ones in my link just by shifting the hue and messing with saturation and swapping around the shafts but it doent make them _different_ enough to be very more useful

https://imgur.com/oKXW196 anyone can do that kind of stuff in a 2 minutes so it doent save most downloaders very much time for what they could do on their own with less axes

cool

cool

i was just saying about 5 unique ones meaning the basic recognizable shape is only about 5

i zoomed in on the preview image and i woud say the axes kind of repeat every 5 columns
double square blade
double tapered blade
single tapered blade
single tapered blade with rounded top
single triangle blade
repeat

the colors and shafts and the other differences are not really very different enough for my eye to care

like this https://opengameart.org/content/cc0-axe-icons has less than 100 axes but my eye can tell exactly the difference between them right away that is all im saying

the part about multiple post is not a big deal if your posting one new upload a day but 4 all at once could all be together as one big upload of 10000 wepons axes stafs swords spears all together but hey im not admin so prolly ignore this part haha

yea i get how they are all
Tuesday, June 23, 2020 - 15:02

yea i get how they are all differnt but tbh they are also all pretty much the same

maybe someone else could use more of these but i just dont see much variety across 2500 axes sorry

i guess i feel like the kind of ppl that need art here are already good at procedural generation and can maake their game make the wepons on demand

prolly 5 are different enough to use but 2500 of almost the same wepons is just using up spritesheet space wen they can just use a script

dont want to drive you away cause your art is good and your sharing for free sorry if this comes off as rude

i get the idea and i like rng

i get the idea and i like r.n.g. but

procedurally generated =/= unique

it woud be more useful to give the parts used to make each one insted of a bunch of pregenerated wepons with a color change on them

prolly dont need 4 different uploads either tbh

just make one "shit-ton of fantasy wepons 32x32" upload
or better yet just one upload of all the _parts_ and let me put them together in my game

cool concept tho

nah man. dont keep it in mind

nah man. dont keep it in mind for _next time_ fix this one here now today. not trying to be a dik but what is stoping you from adding a description and changing the title and using a better preview on this page?

amazing! gloriously rendered!
Friday, May 29, 2020 - 13:57

amazing! gloriously rendered! the details are all there... but the details are hidden by darkness. very mysterious. first question. what is it? I guess a lamp judging from the file name. i think a better screenshot would be a good start tbh

title doent tell me anything about it
description doesnt tell me anything about it
preview doesnt tell me anything about it
people search opengameart.org to find art for their games. no one is going to be searching for "first render" or "art that started that one guys animation career"

tell people what it is how many polygons it uses what textures it uses and how they would put it in their game.

huh? they are all exactly 34 x 34 pixels what isn't uniform?

:)

:)

btw, when i said the symbols are trademarked i meant the symbols _together_ are definitely trademarked. its right from the united states patent and trademark office. you can disagree with them if you want, but there is no arguing about it. like i also said, the question is if it is ok to use the symbols _by themselves_.

just like it is ok to use a green cross _by itself_ on a medkit

or a red H on a white medkit _by itself_ with no cross

but you can not use a red cross on a white medkit _together_

prolly just beating a dead horse at this tpoint, tho. im just nitpicking details. it looks like op or admins added a disclaimer note, so i guess its all good now

>German law applies for

> Fighter19: German law applies for anyone who can affect German citizens.
> Fighter19: Thus you're techincally not allowed to make this site available until you have an "legal info" page,

LOL! just let the mods know if you're a german citizen so they can ban you to make the site unavailable to you. problem sovled!

> Fighter19: If you really want to know whether the other symbols are trademarked, ask alawyer

the symbols are trademarked. you dont need to ask a lawyer to know that. the question is if it is ok to use the symbols by themselves or in a game not on the playstation. prolly need a lawyer for that, tho.

> if you have no clue about
Friday, April 3, 2020 - 09:16

> Fighter19: zombietom, if you have no clue about trademarks, please don't talk.

it seems like I know as much as you do about trademarks. maybe you should take yor own advice. I was not saying a _copyright_ license gives you rights to use a _trademark_. I was responding to your statement:

> Fighter19: if you really want to know whether the other symbols are trademarked, ask a lawyer.

there is no question they _are_ trademarked. and since oga is a us based site where german laws arent enforced, here are the US based trademarks:
http://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=79081621&caseType=SERIAL_NO&searchType=statusSearch
http://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=79252718&caseType=SERIAL_NO&searchType=statusSearch
http://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=79975238&caseType=SERIAL_NO&searchType=statusSearch
http://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=79089053&caseType=SERIAL_NO&searchType=statusSearch
http://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=79071955&caseType=SERIAL_NO&searchType=statusSearch
http://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=79081621&caseType=SERIAL_NO&searchType=statusSearch
http://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=79975238&caseType=SERIAL_NO&searchType=statusSearch.

we all know trademark != copyright. but oga doesn't allow trademarks on the site either. even if the license for graphical art is not the same as license to use the trademark. still not allowed. because _oga site policy_ says so, not because the law says so.
