Well the sprites you see are made for a Sony PsP here's a preview :
About the use of multiple texture ... well there should not be any problem since each card will have only 2 layers besides the PsP can use multiple layers just fine :
the 1st one for the art witch will consist in one image (boarder+art+plastic)
and the 2nd one witch will be the card stats witch is text
"I like the top one. Do you have a PNG verson with out the black background by chance?"-> Glad I could help , Yes I do I posted the direct links below the preview image I did not post the images with [img] tags since they are 1200X1200 and that would mess the comment page borders.
"BTW how did you make that swril effect?"-> I personally use Paint-net but almost any image editing software has that effect since its kinda basic ... In fact some online image hosting sites might have it in the edit tab.
Oh boy ... he will be so disspointed when he finds out that the bag is actually filled of stones and not gold coins !
