Working an electrical effect
Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 19:01

Working an electrical effect with a cloud layer's more effective by the way

1. Make a gray scale plasma "cloud" noise layer (in GIMP, Render>Clouds>Solid Noise)

2. Have a second layer be a linear gradient, from black '0 0 0' to white '255 255 255', do it in the center at a short length

3. Make that second layer's blend mode 'difference'

4. Merge Down

5. Invert

6. Adjust brightness and contrast levels of the bolt you want, right in the middle. If you can, use curves

It's still misinformation.

It's still misinformation. this 'rip sprites' behavior negates the generous purpose of this site, slaps all of us caring artists in the face, as well as slapping companies in the face, violating copyright and IP laws.

A lack of skill in art doesn't justify theft.  The people at Xentax would also look down on this filthy exploitive behavior.

and finally

>P2P networks were invaluable for purposes of obtaining free game copies, kudos to all people who share.

This isn't a failed experiment if you considered either emulating the 1st gen SNES era (90-91 when dark shades were looked heavily down upon to distance itself from Megadrive) or the GBA style games (where the screen is so dark you NEEDED bright ugly garish pastel colors)
