The machine (and hard drive) that I generated this sound on are dead, so no. Even if they weren't, I used FL studio to make this sound, so unless you own it along with the exact plugins I used to make it, it wouldn't do you a lot of good.
If you're asking for the source because this sound is GPLed, I should point out that the GPL is a poor fit for media files and I only selected it because at the time there were some projects that only accepted GPLed art for the sake of licensing consistency (Wesnoth comes to mind, although I don't know if that's still the case).
I'm going to go ahead and add CC-BY and OGA-BY as allowable licenses for this.
So, a question for anyone who happens to be paying attention to this, particularly artistic types. Given the visual style that this palette is going for, are there any serious deficiencies left that need to be addressed? I'd be interested in minor nitpicks too, but I may not act on them; at some point I need to stick a fork in this thing and declare it "done".
Note: I've modified the dev version of my color ramp generator so that it uses this palette:
I think desaturation is pretty natural in a "universal" palette like that, since desaturated colors are generally a bit more versatile.
What I'd like to do at some point in the near future is put together another palette that's specifically meant for more gritty, realistic works (war games, cyberpunk, urban and medieval settings, etc).
Very nice work!
Short answer: Would if I could, but the source doesn't exist anymore.
Long answer: see my comment at http://opengameart.org/content/spell-4-fire

I'll look into fixing that. No promises on a timeline, unfortunately.

Thanks. :)

Awesome, thanks! :)
Here's a quick test of the new version.

Gotcha.
I'm actually glad that edits bump the topic. Just wanted to make sure that we weren't losing data or something.
