There are some contributions getting high in the ranks and I think they earn some honor for that. There may be even two medals: one for art of a third party and one for own art.
I like that idea. It might require some complicated rules, but I'll see what I can do about implementing it.
I might do one later on. At some point I'd like to get back into story art, but other things have been taking my time, so it has to be pretty low priority.
Is there any way you could do a front and side view of this guy, suitable for turning into a 3d model?

Well, the upside to doing it here is that we already have the bulk of the infrastructure in place. Licensing, tags, etc.
