Hey folks!
I've got the art wishlist for Tempest here. If you feel like getting started, feel free to do so. If not, we'll see you on the 30th! :)

Greetings, folks!
The folks from the promising CrystalSpace steampunk MMO Tempest in the Aether have asked me to put together an art sprint to create art for their project. If you've never participated in this sort of thing before, here's how it's going to work:
As of April 20th, the Tempest team will produce a list of art that they need. The list will include all kinds of art items, so people with a diverse set of talents will be able to participate. I'll make a forum post about the list, and if people want to get started early, they're welcome to do so. I'd ask that if you start to work on a particular item, you reply to my post and let people know you're working on it so that we don't duplicate work.
When the weekend comes around, I'll gather up as many participants as possible and we'll make as much art as we can in two days. Since we're going to be filling a number of smaller requests, there's no need for everyone to be there the whole time, so if you'd like to drop in and participate for an hour or three, that would be excellent. If you can't participate over the weekend but would like to help, feel free to get a head start and work on something early.
All art produced will be archived here on OGA.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. :)

Being the audio guy and all, I dont want to be a moocher too much and not have something that will contribute to the group to help out besides the audio. So I decided to dedicate majority of my mumble server to hold enough people to allow many members of OGA to join. If you want you can join whenever you want (idling is encouraged). I am in there 24/7 and I am always there to talk when not at school or work. Mumble is open source so if anyone wants to make a "OGA" skin for us to use that is awesome. Mumble is also capable of sending snapshots so you dont have to upload to a random website or dropbox.
to download 1.2.3 OSX or Windows stable (both with work) go here
http://mumble.sourceforge.net/
if you need help installing or want to know how to do for linux go here

if you are on linux and are having any codec errors, these forums post might help you out

If you want to download my "mumblex" skin I have made the link is here
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18779932/mumble/Mumblex.zip
all you have to do is extract the folder somewhere on your computer and direct the skin browser in Configure>settings>user interface to the qss file inside the folder. (Restart mumble when applied)
Here is a screen shot of the skin in use
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18779932/a/234B.png
The information to the server is 66.150.214.6 port number 8070
The server name is whatever you want to name it.
To join the OGA channel. On the top left go to server and click access tokens and add the token "oga1" This will be a permanent password that will save to your name so you can join in and out of the OGA channel. :)
If you are having audio trouble or cannot connect you can message me in the opengameart Mirc. Thanks :)
Note: you do not have to have a mic to join. There is typing capabilities along with TTS this is just another convenient way to communicate people about projects, especially for later on in the project when things get more hectic. If you need a channel added to play video games amongst your friends or a permanent channel for your project just let me know I will be happy to help out.

Hello OGA!
Our Weekly Challenge has been running (more or less) for 1 full year now. Massive thanks to everyone who's participated. Quite a lot of content has come into OGA (and out to games) because of this challenge.
As Flare progresses it's taking up more and more of my time. I'm looking for someone who is interested in taking over the Weekly Challenges.
A good candidate to take over the weekly challenges will:
- Be on the OGA forums and chat often
- Have available time each week to post a new challenge, end the previous challenge, and tally votes
- Great candidates will have plans to announce the challenges to communities outside OGA
Please post nominations, volunteers, etc. The OGA admins will pick the best candidate, who will take over duties immediately. Whoever takes over will also help planning how Weekly Challenges and other contests will work in OGA 2.0.

This is a COMPILE ONLY version. If you can't compile it yourself, please wait for the binaries, which we'll post here ASAP. :)

Last Escape is HARDCORE. Don't expect it to be easy. There are five levels total, and if you're going to get through them, you have to play carefully and kill enemies to collect their drops, 10 of which give you an extra life. Please let us know what you think!
UPDATE: Windows files are here (with binary)

Just download, unzip, and run. :)

Credit for this idea goes to Xiphias3, who mentioned it in our IRC channel, #opengameart. We assumed that it was a suggestion for the group, so we voted on it and went with it and had no idea that he was developing it independently. If this looks very similar to the premise for another entry, that's the reason. :)
