Learning resource :)

Hello everyone :) I am starting my adventure with gamedev and I want to improve my skills. I am not making any game or anything like this. Just a simple learning project, that probably nobody will see except me :P This is a 2D platformer with pixel art.

I have wandered through whole Internet probably and I can't find anywhere a simple pixel character sprite sheet (can be even the simpliest and the ugliest character) with these animations:

- Idle (Optional)

- Walk

- Run (Optional)

- Sneak (Optional)

- Jump

- Aim with a gun

- Crouch

2D Art

Looking for a 2D graphic designer, to help fill my artistic void. I am a adept game programmer, and do it for a hobby. I have an idea for a game (no title yet), that has an anime style. Its a dungeon style rpg with many areas to cover. If you were to submit some samples, I would review it, and descide weather or not you have the same images in your mind as I. This game is expected to take 1-2 years to make. This is a hobby, and I have a job, so i cant spend much time working on it each day. I am currently designing the game style, story, and mechanics.

Show off your project!

In a game that features elements from RPGs, Visual Novels, and Sports Simulations, you will be given the ability to select a roster of middle school basketball players and guide them on a quest to a championship! Whether it being strategizing the best way to contain an opposing star or dealing with some off the court controversy, there will always be something to keep you busy. The season is ten games long and features a division of six basketball teams of varying talent.

Which license do we pick if we want to specify NON commercial use only?

I have a piece I'd like to share, but I don't remember if the photoshop brushes were free for commercial or personal use only, so I think it's best to release it for non commercial use only. Yet I can't find which license to use for that. Or... isn't there one? o_0,

A project I am working on using FLARE

FLARE [ARCHIVED]

Hi, I am a CG Artist using FLARE to create a game. It is rather ambitious, I hope to make the graphics reminiscent of a PS1 era JRPG.

I am focusing on art asset creation and am currently partway through creating my own custom 'town' tileset. However, I cannot find any clear guides on how to convert the .TMX file into the format FLARE reads. I would like to be able to do that to test the map in-game. What are the steps?

Here are some work in progress:

What type of music/sound effects would you like to see more of on OGA?

General Discussion

Hey all,

In my time on this site, I've been trying to create a variety of music and sound assets.  As a relative newcomer, I don't quite have my ear to the ground as far as the most common types of games people are making or what sounds/music they may need to accompany those games.  I have a few hunches (fantasy seems to be much more popular than scifi), but I would appreciate if some people could weigh in.  As someone who contributes and also uses this site for my own personal game assets, I would rather fill a void than add another 8bit jump sound effect to the pile.

Looking for artist for match-4 game

Resource Requests

Hey there,

I am currently working on a little match-4 game, which I already finished coding. Now I want a graphical update on it, before I publish it.

Therefore I am looking for a graphic artist who might create some sprites and backgrounds for me.

Since the project will be a commercial one, I, of course, would like to share the earnings 50:50, cause I feel like good graphics is half the rent for success.

I am a german guy, so if I translate german phrases wrongly, I apologize :).

If you are interested, and for more information, just contact me.

Hi,

I've been holding this post back for a while now because, well I love OGA, and I just don't want to be on here complaining about it, but I think we've reached a point where something needs to be said.

Still just to be clear, this is NOT a complaint, it's an expression of concern and an offer to help.

I think it should be pretty clear to all that OGA is no longer getting the administrative attention in needs.

Hey OGA!

Project Background: Arena of Kings (AoK) is an online, multiplayer, 4v4 micro battle arena game deployed exclusively in the web browser with use of HTML5 and JS capabilities. AoK proudly encapsulates traditional RPG elements such as items, trading, spell customization, crafting, guilds, class mastery, etc. despite having zero "pay to win" gimmicks.

The main attraction of AoK is the well designed, fast-paced, highly replayable, competitive team battles.
