Here's the start of a bunch of remixed tilesets recolored using my slightly extended DB32 color palette. I had to add a few colors :-P to be able to achieve a good conversion.
This is pack 1 of my OGA (DB32) tilesets remixed. I'm basically trying to take my favorite OGA rpg assets and remix/recolor them so they work together, thus making them more useful to game developers.
This is mostly Jetrel's work and a few derivitives I made based off his stuff and some trees I made based off surts CCO scraps. There's a few plants in there that comes from Hyptosis' mage City https://opengameart.org/content/mage-city-arcanos
Here's a link to where I post updates so you can see what I'm working on before it's finished, polished, and submitted. https://opengameart.org/forumtopic/my-favorite-oga-jrpg-tiles-remixed-db32wip

Woo!
I'm glad you added those extra colors. The DB32+Zs8 palette really makes these look good together.
Thanks MedicineStorm, oops I had to reupload the treepack.png color variation because I accidently forgot to delete Lens Whispers of Avalon tree out of it. I'll be submitting those soon when I'm done converting his stuff.
The detail, color, & shading is beautiful. I'll have to check out the originals & compare the difference.
Lol, here's a big comparison image(the building isn't recolored completely)(the top one is the DB32+Zs8). I love Jetrel's original colors but I'm sticking to this slightly extended DB32 palette to make this easier and I think I like the new colors better anyway. The thing thats hard is converting it from 16x16 to 32x32 with only those screenshots to work with.
I don't know how Jetrel setup the original tilesets. Looks to me like he had about 6 layers for the grass and a bunch for the mountains and a bunch inbetween. There's so much detail in his stuff and how he made it into 16x16 tilesets for an endless variety to mapping is amazing. So my conversion of this stuff is more simplified and easier to map.
I'll try and have pack 2 of these assets out in a week from now.
Zabin, these are really beautiful; man, those trees are amazing. I think you did a really good job with the texturing of the conifers too. I'm working on a major repack of various trees from the site in the LPC style---I'll definitely try adapting these.
One thing, it looks like the small bushes on the bottom left (just above the gap) are from Hyptosis' Mage City Arcanos: https://opengameart.org/node/11192 . Probably should add Hyptosis to the credits.
Oops I mentioned Hyptosis in the description but forgot to there. Thanks, I've updated the attrubution instructions.
Thanks again for the compliment on the conifers. I think you can adapt those easily for LPC style. The big trees may be harder to adapt though because of the many colors. Good luck, I'm looking forward to seeing your tree pack maybe you have some that I haven't collected yet.
Oops, didn't see that :p Thanks!
I can't belive these are really just DB32, it looks like millions of colors were used her.e.
I don't think it is just DB32. It's got Zabin's +8, doesn't it?
they're amazing!!
Thanks, if i ever use this I'll put in the attribution..
This is amazing! Thank you. I'll make sure to give credit to all the people who contributed to creating this masterpiece!
