Those gimmicks definitely pay off, as far as "not feeling repetitive" and "heightening excitement" go.
I'm listening to this on repeat. It really is good.
My fear is that I will not be able to make a game that is good enough for this song, but then...With this in it, it will surely help create those emotions I would want in my players.
I think that it's not bad that the chime is different from the rest of the piece. I just think it should be more dramatic, or possibly even more subtle.
It's like in those old JRPGs when there would be one sound effect that would really stick out, like Kefka's laugh, and it would just get your attention when you heard it.
Either way...looking forward to the rework! (And saving this existing one for posterity...) :)
As always, a triumph. I think that the imbera (I think that's the chiming instrument at 0:15 and 0:48) is good for the "suspense" version of this song, or the "magical kid is about to explode with power by remembering moments of their friends." However, I would also like to hear a version with something more like tubular bells or some other (albeit muted) large instrument.
The chime certainly stands out from the chiptune and creates a dramatic effect; this is awesome. The looping is quite perfect; I'm listening to it whilst coding.
The only problem with listening to your music while trying to code is that I want to stop coding to listen to your music. :D
This is going to be "You Win" music. :)
I think you did a fine job of successfully capturing fantasy & wonder here.
This is some top-tier chiptune work.

I've only listened to a few tracks so far; this is very good, and *incredibly* generous!

I don't know how I missed all this for so long.
This is great. This belongs in more than one of my games. :)
Looking forward to showing you a finished work with 'em. And thanks for including 4 colors on the buttons! :)
This sounds like how I remember NES Willow. (Which is a big compliment!)
If this was your first effort, you are definitely good.
Heck this would be good for just about anyone.
Please consider making more!
And thanks!
It is indeed good! (Especially for a first go at pixel art!)
May I ask that you put the sprite sheet in equal sized bits?
I don't know what engine folks are using most of the time, but Godot requires all sprites in a sheet to be in a grid.
It's easy to edit, but I think all of us would appreciate being able to use this nice li'l guy in a sheet that was already prepped for use! :D
I didn't realize this was Centurion until I had already listened and thought "This is really good for conversations." :)
So, I definitely like the instrumentation choice, and how subtle it is.
I think the end needs to loop more neatly into the beginning, because it sounds a bit stilted for me, at least when using VLC for playback.
This is good stuff. It honestly reminds me a bit of RedWind in its subtlety.
