The effects are all created using Photoshop. Primarily filters, adjustments, and layer styles.
My mental process is mostly discovery, not directly to achieve the result.
I start with a general theme (magma for red), to acquire the mood; that each piece might capture the feeling of the color. I try to envision the physical component that is conveyed of the material.
In the end, each color palette is enhanced by the coupling of the stylized texturing, created through the tools mentioned above.
