Oh ye! I didn't realise its a real rifle XD...in that case you were pretty close to the mark. Its a really difficult weapon to draw and you did an excellent job. I took the XM8 challenge.....
Alrighty! Well done to all who submitted. Fantastic effort guys and gals!
looking forward to playing and rating the games! Here are some tips on how to vote/rate using the 5 star system.....
1 star :-
Is obviously poor quality. A broken game that offers no enjoyment.
I urge you to reserve 1 star ratings for games that are un-playable and therefore can be neither criticised nor praised.
2 stars :-
A game in its very early stages of development e.g. unfinished game loop or lacking a story.
Game Jam time constraints should be considered however and potential should be recognised. Some things may have been implemented well like solid player controls for example.
This should be taken into account when leaving constructive feedback.
3 stars:-
These games are good, very playable and fun.
You may find however that some elements don't quite work or the game is not balanced,
e.g. enemies/A.I. are too difficult or you get stuck at some point and can't continue.
These games should get a mostly positive review. Make sure to leave suggestions on how to improve the game along with info about any bugs you encountered.
4 stars:-
A really good experience. Solid game design that is very well implemented.
You may notice minor glitches in the game but nothing major that interrupts the gameplay.
e.g. missing sound effects, graphical glitches or any other small quirks that grab your attention.
5 stars:-
Thoroughly enjoyable and well made. Reserve 5 stars for a game that impressed you from start to finish.
Keep in mind the nature of Game Jams and these games may not be perfect but if the very minor discrepancies didn't bother you at all and you had fun throughout then it's a 5 star game.
Nicely done! I agree with chasersgaming.....the base shapes are a little off in places, well only the trigger handle and the front end look iffy to my eyes. The trigger handle may have lost shape when you upscaled the image. I would personally treat the front end as cylinder shape and build on top of that and alter it slightly if you want to create unique weapons. Just what I thought when I first looked at it :) Good job though!
Cool! Its a nice style and mockup......for characters, enemies and collectables, I suggest using the darkest black for the outline. That makes them pop out more and differentiates them from the background elements. Also keep the outline to a single pixel in width....especially on corners and slopes. If you want a corner to appear sharp outline all around, but if the corner should be round or soft....cut across it diagonally with the outline and leave out the very tips/points.
The characters are sweet! and I love the floaty bushes. Nice work!
Ye you could but its no biggie. I will follow the links anyway....I just altered the rules to state that you have until the end of the voting period to upload any art made specifically for the jam if you want it to be considered for eligability. I'll create a community topic to re-iterate. Cheers!
