You re welcome! And that is a nicely done game. Only problem is the loops don't work well on my box, there is always a gap before repeating the background track.

Just logged back in OGA after a long time to tell you how amazed I am by your recent tilesets.

Also I LOVE the Cathedral tileset. Can't wait to play in it

Judging solely by the screenshot your version became way better than the original one. Your version looks very great and professional. Everything just fits good together.

don't forget that you actually have contributors that will consume some of your time as well ...

except that I think that you don't really need much input from us, but will figure out the best solution yourself.

p.s.: I uploaded the new flare song, hope it fits :) ... if not just mail me

Sounds like a very good summary to me. I just like to add to "What might be issues keeping the challenges from succeeding?" that the WCs are almost invisible to people who are only rarely on OGA.

I try to come up with something better soon

That sounds a lot like the happy penguin approach, but I like it, as long as it very well organized and is no replacement of the weekly challenge.

Yeah, I guess it is that medieval style, but besides that there is not much in common in my opinion ...

Ok,

as I was away for quite some time, I only present my vision of it ... feel free to disagree, I probably will myself after a short while.

I think the weekly challenge is kind of too much involved in OGA, while it is part of OGA and also should be, I think you can get much more potential out of it. To take part in the challenge you pretty much must follow the OGA forums, as well as actually be on OGA.

I think there should be an easy way to to look at the current challenge, as well as seeing older ones. I guess a blog announcing new themes, as well as showcasing the winner and participants of the last one, would be pretty cool, while the actual contest still stays at OpenGameArt. That way you could also add a feed to some planets.

Also some prices would be cool. It really doesn't have to be every week and actual money. Some merchandise (unfortunately I only know of Wesnoth selling some) would be quite cool ... maybe even printing a shirt with your own entry on it.

So you see, I don't really have any quality ideas, but hope this could help you for inspiration at least.

err ... of course not. I had to look him up first, but why are you asking? I really don't feel like it is very similar to what I listened by him. Also it would be pretty illegal to use his stuff without permission.

This is pretty much the essence of an longer attempt to create a medieval theme after listening to greensleeves for quite a while.
