I've died very early in the game, too. The trick is to buy armorpieces, as the armor will absorb damage, which makes you invulnerable to some attacks.
As ranger and magician you should keep on running however ^^. With any class you should also go for the shield spell, which will make the game a lot easier.
On the other hand, putting the gold into the stash will make deaths less frustrating, after all you are just losing gold and you are able to replay each dungeon to get infinite gold. So dieing is not as bad as it seems and a part of the game.
I love flare, too. For some reason I started as ranger, too :D. The developers did a great job and I can't wait to see more of flare. Maybe a bigger city or some more story elements.
The camp mission is a little bit tricky. The River encampment is an extra map to the north of Frontier Plains, maybe they could add some kind of quest radar as in sacred or at least mention that it is an extra map in the quest log. I personally don't like that the enemies respawn after leaving a map, but as they can't slow you down as in sacred its quite ok.
Some infinite, repeatable mission (as in "Strange Legacy" the amazing and good looking addon for battle for wesnoth \^^/) would be great to have and would allow to play the game even longer. You should add a way to start over in a higher difficulty, because it becomes boring to kill off the necromancer over and over again (or is there a more dangerous dungeon?).
You might also reconsider in creating an infinite skilltree, which allows to make unlocked abilities even better. I was also thinking about some kind of profession/wanderer skill tree which will allows you to craft, scavenge materials and to grant passive boni.
However, good work everybody and keep it up.
PS: I found a bug considering the runed chest of v. the destroyer. The firewave produced by the chest, causes a gamecrash.
Thanks for this information. Unfortunately I haven't used Alexandr's music to avoid any problems, even so the music would work fine for such a science fiction theme.
When uploading addons on the wesnoth server the uploader has to confirm that the provided files are licenced under GPL. All files provided by this addon will than be treated as GPL as well.
It makes sense to do it this way, even so GPL is not a good licence for music, sound or pictures. But I think this is a burden from the very beginning of the project, which existed before Creative Common.

Maybe you should add more contrast to the picture. It also seems to dark, though.
Also the stems/stalk should vary in colour.
