The female base doesn't work
Tuesday, December 11, 2018 - 13:43

The female base doesn't work with the backpack, mostly because it has narrower shoulders. I tested it on the male lizard and it works, though there are some minor issues with the winged variant. The elf is the same as the regular base.

There's a lot of variation in military packs. If you can find a photo of the style you want and PM me a link, I can give you a price.

I've actually been working on

I've actually been working on a backpack for the male base, which I hope to release in a few days. I wasn't planning on extending it to work with the other bases in the near future, but if you want to commission me I'd love to do it.

I like that you've cleaned up

I like that you've cleaned up the look of the header area by bringing the links and the logo into the same box.

The scrolling forum posts just make it take longer to see if there's any recent topics I'm interested in, and the motion draws attention away from the art. Also, I don't see any other way to get to the forum.

The animated previews are a good idea, but probably shouldn't be moving by default. Motion strongly draws the eye, making it difficult to focus on anything else. It would be way too much if all the previews on the page animated, and it's very possible that this could happen. Either a button to start the preview, or only having images animate when you hover over them would fix this.

The larger images are fantastic. I always though the old design had the previews too small. However, it's hard to see where one preview ends and another begins, especially when they have similar background colors. Adding a little margin would help a lot to make it feel less crowded and chaotic.

I'm not sure what the menu in the lower right corner is for. The icon is what's normally used when the header is hidden inside a drop down menu, but it seems to be the most recent site news instead. It's really kind of confusing.

It's super nice that the page fits on mobile screens.

Overall, I like the direction. With a few changes and a little polish it will be way better than the current site.

I posted my zombie today

I posted my zombie today https://opengameart.org/content/lpc-zombie

Sadly, we didn't end up doing modular limbs, but I'd love to try something with that at some point.

The skeleton actually does have a thrust animation https://opengameart.org/content/lpc-skeleton

Depending on your needs, some

Depending on your needs, some of those animations can be done with what already exists.

I've done throwing with the second to last frame of the slash animation. It works pretty well as long as you don't need a two-handed throw, and don't need to use the front view.

There is an animation for picking up items with both hands. The animation is not widely used, so very few (if any) clothing items have been made to fit it. If the item will just disappear into the inventory, I like to use a frame from the slash animation. Either option for pick up animations works as long as the character doesn't need to visibly carry the item, or bend over to reach it.

Eating depends very much on what you need. Personally, I'd use the frame from the spell cast animation where the hands are close together, or a frame from the slash animation where the hand is close to the mouth. I'd position the food over the character's hands, and then make it disappear and play an eating sound.

Climbing a ladder is the only one I can't think of a way to do with what currently exists. I don't think it would be hard to create one, but adapting clothing items to fit it could easily become an enormous task.

I'd love to do some LPC
Monday, October 29, 2018 - 17:06

I'd love to do some LPC comissions! I've slowly been working to expand the set myself, though all I've released so far is an extension of the horse.

What's the source for the zombie? I know I've seen it before, but I can't remember where.

Another attempt at playing
Thursday, September 6, 2018 - 08:34

Another attempt at playing with the proportions. I've increased the width of the legs and made the horse a bit fatter.

@bigbeargames: That's fantastic! Though seeing the transition from gallop to walk at the end, I think I may need to make trot and canter animations now.

Thank you! I'll put those

Thank you! I'll put those fixes on the list for the next update.

I haven't had much time to work on this the past few days, but I did experiment a little with a larger head. Critiques are welcome.

@bluecarrot16: Glad you like

@bluecarrot16: Glad you like it! I am planning to continue to improve the animation as I update it with other things, so I'll make sure I take another look at the legs. I did experiment with adding motion to the rump, but I wasn't getting very good results, and it creates issues when when you want to put a saddle or other accessory on top.

@bigbeargames: You'll be happy to know that I have begun work on a rainbow mane/tail set. After that, I think saddlebags might be next.

Reigns and other head accessories I want to wait on. The more I see the horse with a rider, the more I want to adjust it to match the same cartoon proportions. I'm going to experiment particularly with the head proportions, so I don't want to start drawing anything new that fits the head quite yet.

I've reworked this to improve
Saturday, August 25, 2018 - 13:51

I've reworked this to improve the animations and to add more varation options beyond color. https://opengameart.org/content/lpc-horse-extended
