Re: Let's get this forum started!

@verbalshadow

I tried Krita probably about a year ago, it seemed unintuitive to me at the time, and I didn't like all the dependencies, though I should probably try it again.

@ceninan

Sorry! I was just naming the two tools that I use the most and know the most about! I do like Alchemy, though, and should probably utilize it a bit more.

Re: What do you want to see in OGA 2.0?

it would be nice if we could sort the users by the first letter of their usename on the website, like, have a list of the letters, and you can click on one, and it shows just the usernames that start with that letter. Also, not sure if it has been mentioned before, but when I go to a userpage, I would like to see a list of their submissions on that page, or at least a link to a page that lists their submissions. There is the track button, but I think there should be a dedicated "Submissions" button.

Well, there is my $0.02.

Re: Fair price for character design art?
Monday, June 7, 2010 - 09:21

It depends, how much revenue are you expecting to make from this venture? I am currently charging $25 for detailed front views of characters. This is for an open source project that is not going to make any money. I would expect something that is planning on a revenue stream to pay more. For a detailed front/side drawing, no color, I would probably charge at least $50 per drawing. Also, personally, I never work on a project where I am only promised a percentage *if* the product sells. I always require payment upfront (upon completion of said work). Hope this helps!

By the way, you can check out my work at OGA and DeviantArt.
