I've realized that the name of the savegame file change when using different mods. Thats why the game don't recognize the file and shows the empty character list.
The solution is to change the file name. In my case I had to change from 'save1.txt' to 'flare0.18_save1.txt' and 'stash.txt' to 'flare0.18_stash.txt'. Now my character appears on the list.
This error is happening in v0.19 which is in the Ubuntu 15.04 repositories.
Looking on Github, apparently the error has been fixed, but I didn't run the last version.

I've found the answer in this topic explaining about Health Potion:
Just fix the mod order and restart the game. I did it, but when choosing the character
the slot is empty. Then, I've switch back the order and restart and my character is back again,
but I continue with health potion as gold.
Is there a way to change my config files so that my character appear in the list to play?
PS: My character appears only when the mod order is alpha_demo first and fantasycore second.
