I'd like to use a texture
Thursday, August 18, 2011 - 04:50

I'd like to use a texture like this for my game, but unfortunately it doesn't tile very well :/ dirt segments in the middle are bigger than segments at the edges, and top half is slightly brighter. This results in very visible individual tiles when tiled over a large area

Hm, https://creativecommons.org/weblog/entry/7145 gave me the impression that it's compatible, this page is wrong? Ok, I'll look into it, or more likely, redo these from a compatible sample.

Made a new www.banditracer.eu
Sunday, July 24, 2011 - 10:47

Made a new www.banditracer.eu track with these, the Tranberry Raceway :P

Took some fiddling to get ends to join some places.

Also: maybe remove white rectangles in the middle? These marking do not belong on a racing track and they mess with perception of scale - if you want the track to be wide, these rectangles also become wide and then the cars look tiny.

Could have used a straight piece with wide borders, where there isn't enough space to place two pieces with widening/narrowing borders in between bends.
