@Joth: since the topic has been raised....   Don't forget to check into the OGA-BY license.   It's basically CC-BY without the anti-DRM stuff so it could a good fit for you depending on what you are looking for in a license for your work.

Also, speaking of Kenny, one of his sets, can't recall which one off the top of my head, has a great example of a bunch of tunes that are all distinct styles but some how march up well enough to all exist in the same project.  Only downside is they are all very short loops so they can get repetitive very quickly.   Still worth looking into if you'd like an example.

These are great!  Thanks for sharing!

Re: search IIRC last time bart fixed the issue (at least temporarily) by pressing a big red 'rebuild search index' (or something like that) button in the admin pages.   Even if that's a temporary fix that just updates the search db one time, I think it's probably woth doing to at least add the last 4 months of submissions to the search db.

Didn't mean to imply or assume that no one is working on anything for the site.  I do have some appreciation for how large and complex the code and server setup for the site must be.  And I fully understand how changes can take a long time to complete and vet, and why it might be best to limit the number of active developers.

However, all that said, search has been broken for far too long, I think it'd very hard to argue that the current situation is working and/or healthy for the long term.

My two thoughts on the music on this site:

1) it's always nice to have more sets or collections of songs that express different moods and tempos but use similar production, instrumentation or styles.   It typically takes alot more than 1 song to make a game, and it can be hard to find several songs on OGA that fit the tempos/moods you need and also sound similar enough to fit together in the same game without being jarring.

2) We could always use more songs that start quicker.  There are a lot of great tunes on OGA that simply take too long to get going to really be useful for most game situations.

To be clear though, I'm not complaining, there is a metric ton of fantastic music in OGA!  The site has actually become my go to place to look for new music.  I've even got a usb stick full of OGA music that I listen driving around in my car.

Oh yeah!   Embarrassed to admit that I never thought of hitting the 'Report Spam' button!

Will do in the future.

Kinda sad to hear that button is abused even on this site :(

Yeah, I think these examples highlight clint.bellinger's point: if you shrink a high res image of grass it will just devolve into random noise.

@MedicineStorm:   Last two posts onthis thread reek of spambottage:

http://opengameart.org/content/found-it

Getting updates from that thread is partly what drove me to start this one.  Even though I know the two issues are unrelated, it's just too sad to see spam on the thread about fixing a spam problem.  :(

@kagerato:  Gotcha.  One thing I notice about the GIMP is that it seems to just leave whatever color data there was in place.  You can verify this by just using the color picker and clicking around the empty space.  I guess this makes sense from a certain point of view, but it can lead to a really messy set of invisible pixels, escpecially if you create and/or edit the sprite with transparency active.

Do you by any chance know of a plugin, filter, script or combination of them that would achieve the 2nd solution I mentioned (filling invisible pixels by averaging neighboring visible ones)?

@LimbaJoe: Glad you like the GIMP!   Your character looks great!   Does she collect apples in that basket?

@kagerato:  When you pull the alpha out like that, what goes in the empty space?  Is it just black?
