Wow. These manage to be small and full of pixel goodness yet full of personality, almost political cartoon style.
Maybe people missed this because the preview was small and didn't hint at everything in the file. Animations, lots of different figures, animals... all with a great license. I know you didn't get many favorites on it, but you really ought to do something with this style.
These are charming. They also feel like they would work great in an old school fantasy civilization game where you talk to different pixel heads about trading agreements, war and technology and cultural advancements.
Variations include thing like climb, push, sneak, roll, catching fish, swimming, frozen solid and so forth animations. Really like the slide one with the penguin since it fite so well with the theme.
For alternate characters there are things like boss penguin, penguin chicks, evil snowman, snow mobiler, sled dogs and musher, seal, walrus, whale, snow fairy and so forth. With the right set up you could branch into different colored penguins (for some reason I think a Pac-Man style set up with the ghosts being penguins would be fun) and just zoo animals in general.
Objects could be sled and snow mobile, snowballs and pile of snowballs, stones, fire and torches, smoke, targets, hoops and loops, eggs, the standard crates and boxes, springs and flags, water, and parallax layered background elements.
These could be different sets and combinable as desired. A corporate office is overrun by penguins and muliplying themselves on copiers, Sure, why not?
Just a lot of potential uses in lots of different ways. Pick something you like and run with it.
This is seriously nice. A little more work with variations and add-ons and this would move to freezin' awesome.
(I have to admit I get unnaturally bothered at seeing penguins in the Arctic, but I have to repeat to myself that it's just a game. Very cute penguin though, so I don't not want to see it there.)
When I saw the color in the thumbnail I figured it couldn't really by 1 bit, but that's just an option to diplay it within a tiled region. Otherwise it's true to it's nature in a beautiful monochrome version. Each pixel is calculated for maximum impact. Awesome!

Magically delicious!
Think I like the bear best. He just wants to hibernate in peace.
Epic, I agree.
Always love images with an authentic retro vibe!
Interesting use of faux vector graphics. Neat.
